Samsung has finally launched the Samsung Galaxy M21 in India. The phone is launched as a successor to the Galaxy M20s in the mid-range segment, which is currently very crowded with a lot of smartphones from different brands, including its sibling Samsung Galaxy M31.
This could make it very hard for people when choosing mid-range smartphones. Plus, the Samsung Galaxy M31 was introduced in India just a month ago and it can compete with the Galaxy M21, as these two phones cost nearly the same. If the price is your main concern, it is no doubt the Samsung Galaxy M21 is the best choice as its base variant only costs Rs. 12,999 in comparison to the Rs. 15,999 price tag of the Galaxy M31.
Galaxy M31 vs Galaxy M21: Display
Speaking of the screens on the two devices we're comparing, the Galaxy M21 has a 6.5” Super AMOLED display, which features Infinity-U design, a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, and a pixel density of 403 pixels per inch. The Samsung Galaxy M31 has a slightly smaller 6.4” Super AMOLED screen with Infinity-U with a standard refresh rate of 60Hz.

Samsung Galaxy M21 gets processing power from the same Exynos 9611 octa-core chipset used on the Samsung Galaxy M31. The Exynos 9611 SoC comes with four Cortex-A73 cores, four Cortex-A53 cores, and a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.
In terms of software, both phones have the latest Android 10 installed with One UI 2 running on top. There is no difference when we talk about the processor or software.
Galaxy M31 vs Galaxy M21: Camera
Samsung Galaxy M21 has a triple camera setup on the rear, including a 48 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 5 MP depth-sensing camera. On the front, the smartphone has a 20MP selfie camera.
Samsung Galaxy M31, features a quad-camera setup at the back, including a 64 MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5 MP dedicated macro camera, and a 5 MP depth sensor. For selfies, it is equipped with a 32MP unit on the front.
In terms of camera performance, the specs on the paper aren't really that important, however, the Samsung Galaxy M31 is more flexible, thanks to the added camera sensor on the rear and a higher-resolution selfie camera.

Both the Galaxy M31 & Galaxy M21 offer great specs and features for their price and there aren't too many differences to pay attention to. If the camera is your top priority, the Samsung Galaxy M31 is the better option. However, if your priority is the price, then the option will be the Galaxy M21.
