This year, Samsung surprised the smartphone industry by changing its big strategy and revamped its Galaxy A series into a mid-range series. The company received impressive feedback from users with a series of different Galaxy A series models. But for the Chinese market, Samsung has made a difference when announcing two other A series phones including Galaxy A60 and Galaxy A40s (Galaxy M30).
Especially, Samsung had to accept to provide a low price for Galaxy A60 to compete with Huawei, Vivo, Xiaomi, OPPO in the fierce market in China. Therefore, although the specs of the Galaxy A60 are better than Galaxy A50, this device has an impressively low price of only CNY1,499 (about Rs.15,000). Meanwhile, the A50 is still priced at nearly Rs.21,000 in India.
Unfortunately, Samsung has not announced any plans to distribute Galaxy A60 in India or other markets. Below are the hands-on images of Samsung Galaxy A60:
The first difference between the Galaxy A60 and the other phones in the new A series in 2019 is the hold-punch display. This device has no notch, but a hole punch in the upper left corner to house the camera selfie. Samsung calls this the Infinity-O display, similar to the design of the Galaxy S10 (the hole punch is on the right), so it will bring a great visual experience. The front-facing camera of the phone uses a 16 MP sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy A60 sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with very thin bezels. This helps the device achieve a screen-to-body ratio of up to 91.80%. Thanks to PLS TFT screen technology, you will be satisfied with the quality displayed on the Galaxy A60 at this price range.
The corners of the screen are also cleverly curved, providing excellent and high-end visual experience.
The Samsung Galaxy A60 is made from plastic, which helps the phone be lightweight and have a comfortable grip. Because of having good finishing, it is really difficult to recognize that the phone is made of plastic, instead you will think it’s made of glass because of its gloss.
One of the bright spots on the Galaxy A60 is the attractive color scheme. Samsung knows how to choose colors so no matter what version, you will still see the phone look very nice. There will be 3 color options including Black Break, Cocktail Orange and Peach Sea Salt.
Unlike some devices in the A series, the Galaxy A60 still uses the rear fingerprint sensor, instead of on-screen one. However, you can gain instant unlock experience with traditional capacitive technology.
Under the light, the back cover reflects beautiful colors. In addition, you will definitely pay attention to the triple rear camera setup including a 32 MP f/1.7 main sensor, an 8MP 123-degree wide-angle sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. It also has a scene optimizing mode similar to many other high-end Galaxy phones.
Samsung Galaxy A60's user interface is similar to its other phones with the new OneUI based on Android Pie.
One of Samsung Galaxy A60's unique features is the audio speaker that plays sound through the screen. This is a feature that has yet been available on high-end Galaxy S models.
In terms of configuration, the Samsung Galaxy A60 comes with a Snapdragon 675 SoC, paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD card slot. It is packed with a 3,500 mAh battery with 15W fast charging tech.
