A Chinese leakster previously claimed that the Galaxy A10 might be one of the first Samsung phones to come with an on-screen fingerprint scanner. A model of this handset (model number of SM-A105F) has just been spotted on popular benchmarking site Geekbench, revealing some of its specifications.
Galaxy A10 to pack a Exynos 7885 processor
The Galaxy A10 is expected to be the most affordable phone in the Galaxy A lineup to launch this year, will come packed with Samsung’s Exynos 7885 SoC. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A20, A30, A40 phones are also tipped to come with the same SoC. The SoC will be coupled with 2GB RAM on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A10, which may indicate that the phone maker will price the phone at a significantly lower price tag compared to previous Galaxy A lineup.
In terms of benchmarking performance, the Galaxy A10 with model number SM-A105F achieved 1,103 points and 3,324 points in the single-core and multi-core tests. Both of these scores are not as impressive when considering other phones in the Galaxy A lineup, powered the same Exynos 7885 SoC. The listing on Geekbench also reveals that the device is reportedly being tested on the latest Android 9 Pie, which means that all of the Galaxy A phones will most likely come with the latest Android OS out of the box.
According to a previous leak, the South Korean phone maker will go for the LCD Display on its upcoming Galaxy A10, which will allow the phone maker to price it a bit more competitively. While the OLED panel is clearly the better choice over the LCD display, switching to the LCD panel may help the Galaxy A10 be a more popular choice in the low-end to mid-range segment. The pricing of this handset remains unknown, but it should be priced significantly higher than the recently-released Galaxy M10.
The company reportedly estimates to ship from 2.5 to 3 million Galaxy A10 units per month. It is also not confirmed whether the Samsung Galaxy A10 will feature an on-screen fingerprint scanner or not. The more high-end Galaxy A series phones such as the Samsung Galaxy A50 are expected to come with an on-screen fingerprint scanner.
