Xiaomi has recently teased a new smartphone under the Redmi brand with a pop-up selfie camera in a video on its Weibo page. This video included several Redmi smartphones that already launched along with a mystery Redmi handset with a pop-up camera. Now, a new poster has just surfaced online, and it shows that this upcoming Redmi phone will be called Redmi X.

As per a recent leak, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi will announce its first flagship under the brand with a Snapdragon 855 SoC. The phone is said to come with a triple camera system on the rear, comprising of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP third camera with a telephoto lens. Up front, not only it has a pop-up selfie camera but the camera is said to be a 32MP shooter.
It appears that this new render / poster of the Redmi X is in line with previous rumors and leaks. The phone is shown to have a triple camera system with similar placement to the Xiaomi Mi 9 and a pop-up camera. As per the photo, the upcoming phone will also have a rear glass panel with a metal chassis. As mentioned, this upcoming Redmi flagship will be powered by the most powerful chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 855 SoC. In addition, the display is said to have a size of 6.39 inches and FHD+ (1,080 x 2,340p) resolution. For security, there is said to be a fingerprint reader embedded under its display which will be the first from the brand. The company also confirmed the presence of this handset and it will come out this year.

In late April, Xiaomi’s Managing Director India and Global VP, Manu Kumar Jain, teased a new handset with a Snapdragon 730 SoC that was launched not too long ago. Reports suggest that Xiaomi could launch the same smartphone with a Snapdragon 730 processor instead of the Snapdragon 855 one and a 4,000 mAh battery with triple cameras.
