Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is set to launch its first flagship with a Snapdragon 855 SoC. It is also the first smartphone from the brand to come with a pop-up camera as shown in a previous teaser video. For its launch name, a recent poster revealed that it will be launched under the name Redmi X. However, Redmi’s General Manager Lu Weibing confirmed on his Weibo that ‘Redmi X’ will not be the name of this phone and ‘there will be a better name’. It is worth mentioning that Oppo's sub-brand Realme is also planning to launch some new smartphones under the name Realme X which might be a bit easily to be confused with the name Redmi X.

In the teaser video, the company only calls the phone ‘flagship’ and that means either it hasn’t had a name yet or the Chinese phone maker is planning it in the official event. In terms of specs, the handset is rumored to come with a 6.39-inch FHD+ notch-free display. As there is no notch or hole punch on the front, Redmi goes for the pop-up selfie camera on this phone. For now, the phone is leaked to have 8GB RAM / 128GB of storage and no information whether it will come with some more memory configurations or not.

In terms of camera, the handset will likely sport a 32MP selfie camera with the pop-up mechanism. On the rear, there will reportedly be a triple camera system, including a 48MP main camera, a secondary 8MP depth sensor, and a third 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
Other possible features include wireless charging support, a glass panel on the rear, and also an in-display fingerprint scanner. Finally, Redmi’s GM Lu Weibing already confirmed that the handset will have a headphone jack and support NFC. With the high number of leaks recently, we believe that it will come out pretty soon.
