Redmi Note 9 Pro review

In this section, we will do a quick review on the phone so you can see the positive things about it and where it can further improve.

The first thing that deserves compliments is the design. Both the front and back of this handset is covered with Gorilla Glass 5, featuring a plastic frame. The glass back, though catches fingerprints easily, gives the phone a premium look. Plus, Xiaomi applies the in-screen fingerprint sensor for this device, so there are no craved circles onto the back of the phone, giving it a smooth, shiny finish.

The fingerprint is integrated into the power button on the side of the phone, which is easy to reach even when you use it on one hand. However, the volume button is placed a bit too high to reach with your thumb.

On the front, the Redmi Note 9 Pro features the punch-hole design, meaning the selfie camera is nothing larger than a black dot at the top-center of the screen. This also makes the handset looks more premium.

The display comes in a large size with an aspect ratio of 20:9, which means it’s big enough for a great viewing experience while being narrow enough so you can navigate with one hand.

The viewing experience for videos and gaming is good

In terms of performance, equipped with the Snapdragon 720G and the Adreno 618 GPU, this phone can absolutely handle your day-to-day tasks as well as gaming. Its user interface MIUI offers a polished slick experience with no lags.

While most smartphones these days are relying on 4000mAh batteries, Xiaomi has raised the capacity to over 5000 mAh. This capacity is more than enough to last you an entire day even if you play games a lot. In the SpeedTest G torture test, it was able to last 6 hours, 22 minutes. The 18W fast charging support helps you juice up the phone in less time, but not very significant, the phone reaches 100% in 140 minutes from 0%.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro takes good photos with its rear cameras, it seems that from the Note 8 Pro, Xiaomi has improved to produce more true-to-life colors. The cameras also catch a lot of detail in daylight. Nevertheless, the night mode is a bit disappointing, it does light up the shot and makes the subject more visible, but there’s too much noise.

Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Redmi Note 9 Pro Max

These two phones have almost the same specifications and features. But with the Note 9 Pro Max, Xiaomi delivered a better selfie camera, with 32MP resolution as opposed to 16MP in the Note 9 Pro.

Apart from that, they have the same screen specs, the same chip, the same rear camera module, etc.
