The Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro are the two popular smartphones from Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi. Last month, the company announced that it sold 1 million units of the two smartphones after they launched in India in March this year. Now, Redmi went on Twitter and announced that the number went up to 2 million. That means the brand sold 1 million devices within only a month which is very impressive.
The said Tweet also reveals that the brand might be working on a new handset with a 48MP rear camera. There are quite a few speculations suggesting that it might be the flagship Redmi Pro 2 tipped to pack a Snapdragon 855 SoC and also a pop-up front camera.
To recall, the Redmi Note 7 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a 2,340 x 1,080p resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with 3/4/6GB of RAM and 32/64/128GB of internal storage. Its cameras include a 48MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 5MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture on the rear. However, there is a different version for the Indian market which includes a 12MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor which is not as good as the global version. There is also a 13MP f/2.0 selfie camera on the front for both versions. Powering the phone is a large 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support.
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is the same for both the global and Indian market. It has similar specs compared to the Redmi Note 7 Pro, except for the Snapdragon 675 SoC. Moreover, the Indian version will still have 48MP + 5MP cameras, unlike the Redmi Note 7.
