The Redmi K20 will be launched in India on July 15, according to an announcement from the Xiaomi’s global VP and Xiaomi India director of Manu Kumar Jain.

Manu Kumar Jain announced the launch date in a Twitter video

During a short 30-second video posted on Twitter, Jain promised the phone would be “a big, big knock out.” The launch of Redmi K20 and K20 Pro is expected to be a declaration of the title “Ultimate Flagship Killer.” Unlike what fans previously hoped, the phone apparently will not carry the name Poco F2 or Poco F2 Pro. But importantly, it can actually challenge the flagship segment with its full-screen design and the Snapdragon 855 SoC.

So far, we have learned a bit about the specifications of the Redmi K20 Pro smartphone. Besides the Snapdragon 855 chip, the phone sports a 48-megapixel main camera and has internal storage of up to 256GB. In terms of the selfie camera, there is a motorized pop-up 20MP camera.

Meanwhile, the Redmi K20 will house an 8nm chip, dubbed Snapdragon 730, along with a bit less impressive primary camera. Both the K20 and K20 Pro will pack a 4,000mAh battery; however, the Pro will come with 27W fast charging and the standard K20 will carry 18W charging.
