Redmi 9 is highly expected to be Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone. The device was spotted on the BIS database recently, which suggests that the phone is coming very soon. And now, the specs and price of the phone have been revealed by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore. Rumor has it that the handset could be released alongside Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C, with the former being rumored to be the most affordable offering in the series.
Redmi 9 series: Rumored price & Availability
As per the rumor, the upcoming Redmi 9 could be priced between €160 and €180, which is around Rs. 13,500 and Rs. 15,200. Meanwhile, the Redmi 9C might be retailed between €130 and €150 (around Rs. 11,000 and Rs. 12,700) and the Redmi 9A could cost between €100 and €120 (around Rs. 8,500 and Rs. 10,100).
As for the launch date, the Chinese phone maker could introduce the series later this month and one of the first markets to receive these phones should be India.
Redmi 9 series: Specifications & Features
All three phones in the series are said to come with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel. However, only the Redmi 9’s display will support FHD+ resolution while the other two phones only offer up to HD+ resolution. All three will have a beefy 5,000 mAh battery, but fast charging support isn’t mentioned in the leak. In addition, all of them will have a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, gyroscope, proximity sensor, accelerometer, light sensor, USB-C port, infrared blaster, and a headphone jack.

Inside, the top-end Redmi 9 is said to be powered by an Helio G7 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Redmi 9C and Redmi 9A will be powered by an Helio G35 and Helio A25, respectively. All of them will likely have two slots for two nano-SIM cards and a dedicated microSD card slot for memory expansion. Interestingly, the Redmi 9C could be available in NFC version and non-NFC version.
Moving to the camera department, the Redmi 9A might only have a single 13MP at the back while the Redmi 9C version with NFC could have dual camera setup on the rear (13MP + 2MP). The version without NFC could have up to three cameras with the addition of a 2MP unit. The Redmi 9, on the other hand, will have four rear cameras, including a 13MP main sensor, an 8MP secondary shooter, an 8MP third snapper, and a 2MP fourth unit. On the front, the lineup is said to carry a 5MP unit for selfies and video calls.
