Vivo says the X50 is the world's thinnest 5G smartphone today, with a thickness of only 7.49 mm. However, the X50 and X50 Pro are only equipped with the mid-range Snapdragon 765G processor and only the most advanced X50 Pro Plus is equipped with the Snapdragon 865 chip.

Besides, gimbal-style camera system is also only available on two high-end versions, X50 Pro and X50 Pro Plus. Vivo X50 is equipped with a 48MP camera sensor, with OIS. Vivo also features advanced photography features, such as Super Night Mode night photography, and Starry Mode astrophotography like the Pixel 4. In the main camera interface, Vivo uses a virtual ball called the Gimbal Radar to reflect the motion of the gimbal system, helping users to know when the image has been stabilized.

All three X50 series smartphones have a 6.65-inch FullHD + OLED screen. However, the X50 and X50 Pro only have 90Hz screens, while the X50 Pro Plus has a 120Hz screen.
