Even the new Realme 6 Pro was only launched for less than 6 months, Realme did not hesitate to introduce its successor, the Realme 7 Pro, which is part of the latest Realme 7 series. To help you choose between the two, we will compare the two phones in multiple departments, including price, performance, design, camera, battery, and display.
Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Price
The Realme 6 Pro price in India is Rs. 17,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage option, Rs. 18,999 for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model, and Rs. 19,999 for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option. On the other hand, Realme 7 Pro price in India is higher, starting at Rs. 19,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version and Rs. 21,999 for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version.
Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Design
The Realme 7 Pro comes with a matte finish on the back which Realme calls "AG Split Design". The back of the handset is made from plastic but still provides stunning and premium gradient effects. The phone comes in two color options: Mirror White and Mirror Blue. On the front, the Realme 7 Pro gets a punch-hole cutout in the upper left corner of the screen and has thin bezels on the side.
On the other hand, Realme 6 Pro comes with the “Lightning” design language with three color options: Lightning Blue, Lightning Orange, and Lightning Red. Notably, this device is equipped with Gorilla Glass 5 back so it is tougher than its successor. On the front, the phone has a pill-shaped punch-hole for a dual selfie camera setup.
Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Display
It is common for mid-range smartphones to come with an LCD panel, high refresh rate, Full-HD+ resolution or an AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, and standard 60Hz refresh rate. With the Realme 7 Pro, you'll have the latter combination that we've just talked about. AMOLED panels are still uncommon in this segment, so in return, you will have to accept the standard 60HZ refresh rate.
The Realme 6 Pro has an LCD display that is certainly not as good as an AMOLED one, but it does support a high 90Hz refresh rate. So you can decide whether to choose a high display quality or a smoother experience with a high refresh rate.
Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Performance
Both phones use an octa-core Snapdragon 720G chipset clocked at 2.3 GHz and integrated Adreno 618 GPU. The Realme 6 Pro comes in three configurations: 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage while the Realme 7 Pro comes in only two options, 6GB RAM + 128GB of storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. With both devices, you get a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Camera
Things get more interesting in this department. Realme was one of the first manufacturers to bring a 64MP camera to a smartphone. The Realme 7 Pro and Realme 6 Pro both come with a quad-camera system at the back with a 64MP main camera. However, each phone uses a different type of sensor. The Realme 7 Pro camera uses a 64MP Sony IMX682 main sensor with f / 1.8 aperture combined with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera (119-degree field of view), 2MP black-and-white portrait camera, and 2MP macro camera.
On the other hand, the Realme 6 Pro has a more versatile camera setup. In addition to the 64MP Samsung GW1 main sensor with an aperture of f/ 1.8, the rear camera of this handset also has an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view, a 12MP telephoto lens with a 20x hybrid zoom, and a 2MP macro camera.
With the Realme 7 Pro, you get a single 32MP selfie camera with f / 2.5 aperture, while the Realme 6 Pro has a more useful combination with a 16MP main camera and a secondary 8MP wide-angle camera inside the pill-shaped cutout. The two phones have pretty much the same camera modes like UIS, Pro mode, Super Nightscape, 4K 30fps, and slow-mo video recording. However, only the Realme 7 Pro has the galaxy shooting mode like the Realme X3 series.
Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Battery & Fast charging
The Realme 7 Pro has a 4,500 mAh battery and 65W fast charging technology. It's impressive that the phone is able to fully charge its battery from 0% to 100% in just 35 minutes. This is a very amazing feature in the price segment of this product. On the other hand, the Realme 6 Pro has a slightly smaller battery at 4,300 mAh and supports 30W fast charging technology, allowing the battery to fully recharge in less than 60 minutes.
Realme 7 Pro vs Realme 6 Pro: Verdict
Realme 7 Pro brings many valuable upgrades to users such as Super AMOLED display and Super Dart Charge 65W at a very attractive price. However, in order to achieve this Realme had to cut down a few great features that were once on the Realme 6 Pro like the telephoto lens, high refresh rate, or packing a more powerful processor.
