With the release of the Realme 7, Realme 7 Pro, and Realme 7 5G, Realme has bombarded the market for budget phones. Despite having a similar name, the latest model is not just merely a tweaked version of one of its brothers. This is, in fact, the Realme V5, which is only available in China. The smartphone comes with a higher refresh rate display and a faster chipset. Check out our Realme 7 5G review to find out more about the device.
Realme 7 5G Release Date
The Realme 7 5G is expected to hit the Indian market in January 2021. The device was launched in the UK on November 27, 2020.
Realme 7 5G Price
The price of the device in the UK is around $370 for one variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Some countries will have the variant with 8GB of RAM.
Meanwhile, Realme 7 5G price in India is rumored to be around Rs 24,599.
Realme 7 5G Design
For the 7-series, Realme has made some changes in its budget phone design style, going for a more chic look. Like the Realme 7 and 7 Pro, the Realme 7 5G comes with a metallic-mirror finish. The split effect delivers two subtly different sheens that reflect horizontally on the right and vertically on the left.
The rear panel feels premium with an almost satiny texture. The device weighs 195g and has a thickness of 9.1mm.
Similar to the Realme 7, the Realme 7 5G has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is placed on the right edge, right behind the power button. Although it is considered to be not as advanced as an in-display sensor, it is easy to locate, reliable, and fast. The Realme 7 5G resembles its brothers around the front with a screen-to-body ratio of 90.5%, a noticeable chin, and a pinch-hole selfie camera.
The device doesn’t have any form of IP certification. However, according to Realme, all the ports of the phone are tightly sealed with protective silicone, protecting them from a splash of water.
Realme 7 5G Display
Like the Realme 6 and 7, the Realme 7 5G comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400.
It is disappointing that the device doesn’t have the AMOLED display like the Realme 7 Pro. The LCD is perfectly fine. However, everything is more muted than basic AMOLED. In bright outdoor conditions, it looks a bit washed out.
The display has one standout feature: a 120Hz refresh rate, doubling the refresh rate of the Realme 7 Pro. With this, the display of the Realme 7 5G is among a much more expensive range of handsets.
Compared to the OnePlus Nore N10 5G’s 90Hz display, it feels a tiny more responsive.
Realme 7 5G Camera
The Realme 7 5G shares the same camera setup as the Realme 7. The device has a quad-camera setup. It has a main 48MP camera using a Samsung S5KGM1ST sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an aperture of f/2.3, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP black and white portrait sensor.
In well-lit conditions, the Realme 7 5G produces quite great photos with well- balanced scenes. Portraits and close-ups are sharp.
The ultra-wide camera is adequate too. However, the general tone of the photos it produces are less natural and crips compared to those from the main sensors.
The phone’s night mode is a little inconsistent. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.1. Users can record videos in 720p/240fps, 1080p/120fps, and 4K/30fps modes.
Realme 7 5G Specs & Performance
The Realme 7 5G is powered by a new mid-range 7nm chip, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U.
Aside from having 5G, the chipset offers a healthy power boost compared to the previous chips from the Dimensity 700 series. Realme states that the chip delivers 11% faster performance for CPU benchmarks, 28% faster performance for GPU benchmarks, and apps are launched 1.4x faster.
With 6GB of RAM, the smartphone can easily handle day to day tasks. Gaming performance is great too. The smartphone can run PUBG, Juicy Realm, and Dead Cells with no troubles.
Sadly, the Realme 7 5G doesn’t have the stereo speakers of the Realme 7 Pro. But at least, it still has a 3.5mm jack. The device runs on custom Realme UI. The home screen is uncluttered and clean with familiar menus and simple icons.
Realme 7 5G Battery Life
The Realme 7 5G comes with a huge 5,000mAh battery for a day of usage. Like the Realme 7, the device comes with a 30 charger that can charge the device from 0 to 100% in over an hour.
That is all the information that we have got regarding the Realme 7 5G release date, price, and specs. We hope that it can help you decide whether to spend your money on the device or not.
