Realme 6i: Price in India, Review, Specifications - Everything You Need

The Realme 6i arrives as the first smartphone in the world with the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, which is aided by 4/6GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage.

Realme has just confirmed that the Realme 6i will make its debut on 17th March. The confirmed specs of the phone include quad cameras on the rear and 18W fast charging support. A previous teaser also revealed that the Realme 6i will be the first smartphone in the world with an Helio G80 SoC. Now, the Chinese phone maker has revealed several more features of this upcoming phone.

According to the new poster, the Realme 6i will have a water-drop notch screen, but it doesn’t reveal the exact display size and support resolution. The notch on the front will be where the 16MP selfie camera is located. It will be fueled by a massive 5,000mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging standard over a USB Type-C port. In addition, the device will be equipped with a 48MP AI quad rear camera setup, but the details of the setup are yet to be revealed.

The photo below shows that the handset won’t have a recess for the side-mounted fingerprint sensor like the Realme 6 & 6 Pro. Meanwhile, previous live photos of the phone listed on the FCC database suggested that the phone might have a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, but it hasn’t been confirmed.

In comparison, its predecessor Realme 5i, which launched a couple of months ago, sports a 6.52-inch LCD panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution. The handset has the same 5,000 mAh battery, but only supports standard 10W charging technology. On the front, it gets an 8MP selfie camera while the upcoming Realme 6i will have a 16MP unit.

At the back, the Realme 5i also has a quad-camera cluster. However, it includes a 12MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, a 2MP portrait camera, and a 2MP macro snapper. Meanwhile, we have just learnt that the 6i will have a 48MP main sensor, which should be a significant upgrade over the 12MP unit.

Realme has just announced the world's first Helio G80 powered smartphone called Realme 6i. The phone was launched today at an event in Myanmar. At an affordable price, the product promises good gaming performance as well as a decent camera quality thanks to the quad-camera lens setup at the back.

The Realme 6i price starts at 249,900 KS (around Rs. 13,000) for the 3 GB RAM / 64 GB storage variant and it increases to 299,900 KS (around Rs. 15,500) for the 4GB RAM / 128 GB storage model. The smartphone is up for pre-ordering in Myanmar until 26 March and will be available for sales for the first time on 26 March. Realme 6i will come in two color versions: Green Tea and White Milk. As for the Realme 6i launch date in India, there is no word about that, but we will update as soon as new details are out.

Realme 6i: Design & display

Realme is one of the brands that always knows how to innovate in designs on its products. It makes their users not getting bored by repetitive designs and Realme 6i is no exception. Still using familiar plastic materials, but you can clearly see that the Realme 6i is significantly different compared to its predecessor Realme 5i.

The brand doesn't retain the glossy design on the back on the Realme 6i, instead, it goes for a series of parallel strips of light running across the back, combined with a light gradient effect, the phone looks very unique.

Moving to the front, the Realme 6i has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen, supporting HD + resolution and 20: 9 aspect ratio. It has a layer of Gorilla Glass 3+ at the top and a small waterdrop notch that houses the selfie camera. Thanks to that, the handset has relatively thin bezels and an 89.8% screen-to-body ratio.

As for other details, the Realme 6i has quad rear cameras stacked vertically on the top left corner and a fingerprint sensor nearby. On the right side, the device has a power button, while the left side contains two buttons to increase or decrease the volume. The phone speaker, microphone and charging port are located on the bottom edge. The device has physical dimensions of 164.4 x 75.x 9.0 mm and weighs 195 grams.

Speaking of performance, the Realme 6i gets processing power from a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, making it the first smartphone in the world to be powered by the Helio G80 SoC chipset. This is an octa-core chipset built on the 12nm process and comes with the ARM Mali-G52 GPU. It has two Cortex-A75 performance cores clocked at 2 GHz and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The company revealed that Realme 6i reached nearly 201K on the AnTuTu benchmark.

The device is paired with 3 GB / 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB eMMC 5.1 storage (expandable up to 256 GB with a microSD card). The company continues to use the same large 5,000mAh battery on this one as its predecessor, but has upgraded to fast charging to 18W. For software, you have the Realme UI user interface pre-installed, and it is based on Android 10.

For other specs, the phone comes with 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b / g / n and Bluetooth 5. It also has a one-touch fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port for charging and Face unlock feature via selfie camera.

At the back, the Realme 6i has a vertically arranged four cameras with LED flash. The setup includes a 48MP main sensor with f / 1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor with a 119-degree field of view, a 2MP macro camera with 4cm close-up capability, and a 2MP depth sensor with f / 2.4 aperture. On the front, the device has a 16MP camera with f / 2.0 aperture for selfies. Both cameras have AI technology that supports better photography.
