Realme 3 Pro vs. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro: Price

The Realme 3 Pro is offered in two memory configurations, including 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. The two options are priced at Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 16,999, respectively. It will be up for sale from the company’s website and Flipkart from 29 April. Consumers can also purchase the phone via offline stores at a later date.

The Realme 3 Pro's rear panel is slightly more well-design while the one on the Redmi Note 7 Pro has a simpler design

Both of the handsets come with a similar look, with the two featuring a water-drop at the top along with glossy rear panels and gradient colors. Additionally, they come with pretty much the same screens. Both of the phones have a 6.3-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a 2,340 x 1,080p resolution and the same 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Interestingly, their displays are also both protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. However, the Realme 3 Pro has a slightly better screen-to-body ratio of 83.7 percent compared to 81.4 percent of the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro Review Back 1

As for hardware specifications, while the Realme offering is powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC built on the 10nm process and an Adreno 616 GPU, the Redmi handset comes with an 11nm octa-core Snapdragon 675 chipset with an Adreno 612 GPU. Despite being a later processor, the Snapdragon 710 SoC is not significantly better than the Snapdragon 675 SoC of the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

It is even better in some particular aspects, so there shouldn’t be a significant difference between the two. However, the Realme 3 Pro is touted to support Fortnite at launch so it might be an advantage if you are a Fortnite player. When it comes to memory configurations, they both have 4/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage.

The software is another aspect that both of the phones are pretty much even. While the Realme offering runs Oppo’s ColorOS 6.0, the Redmi handset ships with Xiaomi’s MIUI 10. Both of the custom UIs are based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie. Other than Xiaomi’s MIUI being complained about its intrusive ads, these two UIs offer more or less the same user experience.

Other notable similarities include a headphone jack and a microSD card slot. However, while the Realme 3 Pro has a dated micro-USB port, the Redmi Note 7 Pro features a USB-C port.

The Redmi Note 7 Pro's rear cameras might be slightly better than the Realme 3 Pro with a 48MP primary Sony IMX586 sensor

Moving to the camera aspect, the Realme phone sports a dual camera setup, including a 16MP primary shooter with f/1.7 aperture and a secondary 5MP depth unit. One of the highlights of its camera setup is the Ultra HD mode that Realme claims to be capable of taking 64MP photos by combining 4 shots taken from its rear cameras. It is also capable of capturing slow-mo videos @960fps which is the first for its price range. Up front, there is a 25MP camera for taking selfies and video calling.

It is hard to judge the camera quality between the two phones since better specs don’t guarantee better photos. Therefore, it is better to compare the actual photos taken by the two’s cameras. However, on paper, we believe that while the Redmi Note 7 Pro might be slightly ahead with a 48MP Sony IMX586 camera, the Realme 3 Pro has a better selfie camera quality with a 25MP selfie shooter.

In terms of battery, while the Realme 3 Pro packs a 4,045mAh battery, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is backed by a 4,000mAh battery. Not only the battery capacities between them are insignificantly different, but they also support similar fast charging tech as well. The Realme 3 is equipped with Oppo’s 20W VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 tech, whereas Xiaomi goes for 18W fast charging tech on the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Realme 3 Pro vs. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro: Verdict

Realme 3 Pro 2

After comparing the two phones, we must say that the Realme 3 Pro is truly a direct competitor to the popular Redmi Note 7 Pro. There aren’t any considerable difference between the Realme and Redmi handsets and that makes users so hard to choose between them. They are also offered at the same memory configurations and the same price tag as well.

The Realme 3 Pro might be a better selfie camera phone with a 25MP selfie camera with a less ad-intrusive operating software, ColorOS 6.0. However, the Redmi Note 7 Pro seems to have a better rear camera setup with a USB Type-C port over the micro-USB one on the Realme 3 Pro.
