POCO X2: Price in India, Specifications, Review - All You Need To Know

The POCO X2 will arrive as the first smartphone from Poco since it separates from Xiaomi and becomes an independent company.

After teasing to launch a new smartphone in February, Xiaomi’s former sub-brand POCO finally confirms that it will release the POCO X2 in India on 4 February. The countdown and teasers of the device have been up on the brand’s official website in India. The handset will arrive as the first smartphone from the brand since it separates from Xiaomi to become an independent company. It is touted as a gaming-centric smartphone with a 120Hz display, 64MP dual rear cameras, and a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor.

Recently, the POCO X2 passed through Geekbench with an octa-core Snapdragon chipset with the codename ‘phoenixin’ and a base frequency of 1.8GHz. The Geekbench listing also reveals that the phone will pack at least 8GB of RAM. Its benchmark scores are 547 points on the single-core test and 1,767 points on the multi-core test.

In addition, POCO also teases that the phone will feature a liquid cooling system, USB-C port between the headphone jack and the speaker grille at the bottom. Previously, it was tipped to be a rebranded model of the Redmi K30 4G launched in China.

However, the new teasers confirm otherwise. It seems the phone will sport only dual rear cameras with a 64MP main sensor and a fingerprint reader right below. Meanwhile, the Redmi K30 has twice the rear cameras and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. In addition, the handset is teased to feature a liquid cooling system for better temperature management and a 120Hz display for smooth gameplay. However, a 120Hz display will likely consume more battery and that is why we speculate that the handset could pack a beefy battery.

These are all the details about the upcoming POCO phone we have got from the teasers and previous leaks. Since its launch is getting close, we could get more information about the handset in the near future. So stay tuned, we will keep you updated on Mobygeek.

The handset has a premium design with two sides protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is 8.8 mm thick and weighs 208 grams.

The fingerprint sensor is mounted with the power button instead of being placed under the screen as many mid-range devices on the market today. One of the main reasons is that the phone uses an LCD panel, which can’t be integrated with an under-display fingerprint sensor.
