It seems like Xiaomi’s sub-brand Pocophone is still active. It was recently reported to be in the works for a new smartphone succeeding the popular Poco F1. Last month, Poco’s global head teased that users will hear more about the brand this year. Now, a mysterious smartphone with the name Xiaomi Poco X2 has just been spotted on the benchmarking platform Geekbench. The listing reveals that the Poco X2 will have an octa-core processor clocked at 1.80GHz carrying codename ‘phoenixin’, combined with the chipset is 8GB RAM. We can make any speculation regarding the exact identity of the chipset is under wraps. However, we can see that the chipset helps the Poco X2 achieve respective benchmark scores of 547 and 1,767 points in the single-core and multi-core tests. Software-wise, it is listed with Android 10, but it should also run MIUI 11 on top.

Even though the handset now passes through Geekbench, we haven’t heard much about the phone and these are all the details we have got about it. The interesting thing about the Poco X2’s benchmark scores is that they are at the same level as those of the Redmi K30, which was released in China in December last year. Therefore, there is also a possibility that the Poco X2 will arrive as a rebranded model of the Redmi K30.
To recall, the Redmi K30 was released in two models: 4G and 5G. The 4G version is driven by a Snapdragon 730G chipset while the 5G model is powered by the newly-announced Snapdragon 765G chipset with a 5G modem. Paired with the chipset is 6/8GB oF RAM and 64/128/256GB of storage. On the front, it is covered with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Housed on the pill-shaped cut-out on the front is a dual selfie camera setup, including a 20MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor.

Around the back, it gets four cameras which are 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP dedicated macro camera. As for the 4G model, it has pretty much the same camera setup, except for the macro camera having 2MP resolution instead of 5MP. Under the hood, there is a beefy 4,500 mAh battery fueling both smartphones with fast charging support (Redmi K30 4G - 27W & Redmi K30 5G - 30W).
Redmi K30 price: CNY 1,599 (around Rs. 16,600).
