OPPO Reno 3 is expected to release globally on 16th March and just like its sibling Reno 3 Pro, the phone will come with slightly different specs compared to the Chinese version. As you may know, both smartphones were first launched in China at the end of last year and the Reno 3 Pro was announced in India earlier this month. Now, the specs and design of the OPPO Reno 3 global version have been revealed thanks to tipster Ishan Agarwal. If the news is to be believed, the vanilla OPPO Reno 3 will feature 48MP quad rear cameras, 44MP selfie shooter, and an Helio P90 octa-core chipset.

For now, there is no word about the OPPO Reno 3 global pricing, but it is only three days until the launch, so we won’t have to wait for long. To recall, its sibling OPPO Reno 3 Pro is priced at Rs. 29,990 in India.

The global variant of the OPPO Reno 3 will come with the same 6.4-inch AMOLED display of HD+ resolution, 91% screen-to-body ratio, and water-drop notch. Around the back, it will have the same gradient finish as the Chinese model. The tipster also reveals that the handset will be drive by an Helio P90 chipset, instead of the Dimensity 1000L unit. There will be three color variants of this phone, including Midnight Black, Sky White, and Aurora Blue. The phone will be available in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model and pack 4,025mAh battery under the hood.

In addition, it will also have a quad-camera setup at the back, but the main camera will be downgraded from 64 to 48MP. The setup is said to include a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.4 lens, a 2MP monochrome sensor with an f/2.4 lens, and a 13MP telephoto sensor with an f/2.4 lens. Camera features could include 4K video recording @ 30fps, 1080p video recording @ 60fps, hybrid zoom, dual-LED flash, and more.

OPPO Reno 3 finally makes its global debut nearly three months after its launch in China. The device is a more affordable version of the OPPO Reno 3 Pro, which was released in India early this month. The global version of this phone features an Helio P90 SoC and 4G connectivity instead of the Dimensity 1000 chipset and 5G connectivity on the Chinese model. In addition, the phone also has an upgraded 44MP selfie camera from the 32MP unit, while its quad-camera cluster is downgraded from 64MP to a 48MP primary sensor. 

There are two versions of the Reno 3: global version and Chinese version.

The price of the OPPO Reno 3 global version hasn’t been revealed, but we expect it to be more affordable compared to its Chinese counterpart as it is the case for the Reno 3 Pro Indian version. To recall, the OPPO Reno 3 was priced at around Rs. 36,000 for the base option with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It will come in Midnight Black and Aurora Blue color variants.

The handset flaunts a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel of FHD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a water-drop notch at the top, and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.8. The device is driven by an Helio P90 SoC, aided by 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Fueling the phone is a 4,020 mAh battery cell that supports OPPO’s 30W VOOC 3.0 FlashCharge technology. 

Its quad-camera cluster consists of a 48MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 13MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, an 8MP wide-angle camera with f /2.2 aperture, and a 2MP monochrome camera with f/2.4 aperture. As mentioned, it is equipped with a 44MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. Camera features include 5x hybrid zoom, 20x digital zoom, AI Beauty Video, Ultra Steady Video 2.0, Video Bokeh, and more.

Aurora Blue and Midnight Black.

It boots Android 10-based ColorOS 7 to take care of the software side of things and has a ‘hidden’ fingerprint unlock 3.0 sensor, which is claimed to unlock the phone in just one motion. Finally, its connectivity features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C port, GPS/ A-GPS, and microSD card.
