Oppo A5s is said to be the successor to the Oppo A5

o As of 2018 July, Oppo has been expected to launch the Oppo A5's new sibling, Oppo A5s. Those phones are also known as AX5 and AX5s in some regional markets. Generally, the difference between the A5s and the previous Oppo A5 has been described in short: Helio P35. While the Oppo A5 models feature a Snapdragon 450, the sibling A5s has been provided an Helio P35 processor instead.

According to The Bluetooth SIG report, the Helio P35 performs a higher speed in processing than the Snapdragon 450, though both chipsets have CPUs Cortex-A53 type. Besides, the OS doesn't have any change. It will run on ColorOS 5.2 based on Android Oreo. The A5s's storage capacity is also keeping up with the base model, which has 3GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The smartphone is powered by a 4,230mAh battery as the previous Oppo A5. However, the Oppo A5s may have a slightly better battery life due to the fact that the Helio P35 SoC may help the handset to utilize the battery better.

MySmartPrice has already listed some new A5s' configurations.

On the other hand, the A5s configuration has taken over the rest from before. The handset will feature a 6.2-inch display, have a screen resolution of 720 x 1,520 pixels and a density of 271 PPI. The notch is still designed as teardrop, but smaller. It supports a 13+2MP for the rear dual camera setup and an 8MP selfie camera. The device will also feature a fingerprint sensor, which will be placed at the back and below the camera module.

Oppo will provide consumers the black, green, and red-color A5s, instead of A5's blue and pink. Unfortunately, Oppo hasn't announced about the launch date as well as the benchmark price, but we expect the device to make its debut soon. Apart from the A5s, OPPO is expected to launch the new affordable A-series phone: the A1K.
