According to an IANS report, Oppo will unveil a new smartphone in the Indian market dubbed Oppo A5s. The phone is expected to launch in the Rs. 10,000 price range.

As per the report, Oppo is expected to announce the Oppo A5s in India in the upcoming week. It will come with a dewdrop notched display and be powered by a large 4,230mAh cell.
Previously leaks suggested that the upcoming Oppo offering will be an upgraded model of the last year’s Oppo A5. The expected specs of the Oppo A5s share some similarities with the Oppo A7, such as the display and the rear camera system. The Oppo A5s is said to pack a 6.2-inch screen with an HD+ (1,520 x 720p) resolution and a dewdrop notch on top. Powering the phone will be an octa-core MTK Helio P35 chipset. As for its memory configuration, Oppo might launch multiple options with 2/3/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD slot.

In the imaging front, it is tipped to come with a dual camera system at the back, including a 13MP main sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 paired with a secondary 2MP depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. Up front, there will likely be an 8MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.2. As for software, it will ship with Oppo’s Color OS 5.2 which is based on the dated Android 8.1 Oreo. Additionally, the phone measures 155.9 x 75.4 x 8.2mm and weighs 170g. Lastly, the phone is said to come in a total of 4 color variants, including Gold, Green, Red, and Black.
As mentioned, it is surprising that Oppo will still use the Android 8.1 Oreo-based Color OS 5.2 rather than go for the Color OS 6 at launch. There should be more details of the phone coming out soon as its launch date is getting very close.
