Although it is a long way until the official arrival of the OnePlus 9 series, just in the past month, a lot of information and leaked render images of the phone have emerged. Now, the live images of this smartphone are shared by leaker Max Jambor (@MaxJmb) on Twitter.
Specifically, according to PhoneArena, the live images of the OnePlus 9 were sent from an anonymous source and posted by @MaxJmb. From these images, we can see that the device has a design similar to what we've seen from the previous CAD-based renders.
As per previous reports, OnePlus will continue to launch at least two OnePlus 9 models next year, including the standard version as we see above and a Pro version. Many sources also believe that there will also be a lite version called OnePlus 9 SE, but this information has not been confirmed.
The standard version will continue to inherit almost all the features that appeared on the OnePlus 8T. The device will have a curved glass back on two sides with the main camera cluster placed in a rectangular module in the left corner of the back. This is a widely-used design on the high-end to mid-range OnePlus smartphones since former co-founder Carl Pei officially left the company.
As for the camera setup, it will include three cameras, most likely a 48MP wide-angle camera, an ultra-wide-angle unit, and a depth-measuring unit. There is also a LED flash next to the three cameras. With this camera placement, it means OnePlus has removed one camera compared to OnePlus 8T. Because this is just a prototype, the OnePlus logo in the center is replaced with another logo.
On the front, the OnePlus 9 will still be equipped with a 6.55-inch punch-hole screen. It appears that the display will be flat instead of being curved on the sides like the one on the OnePlus 8T. However, the specs of the display will remain the same as it is tipped to feature Full HD + resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 20: 9 ratio, and HDR support. Overall, the OnePlus 9's notable changes come from the back design and internal hardware specs.
In terms of performance, the OnePlus 9 is said to come with next year's most powerful flagship Snapdragon 888 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of memory. The device will also run on Android 11 with OxygenOS interface running on top.
It is expected that the OnePlus 9 will be introduced in the first quarter of next year.
