OnePlus 8T Goes Official In India: Snapdragon 865, 65W Fast Charging, ₹42,999 Price Tag

OnePlus 8T is slightly upgraded over the OnePlus 8, featuring Snapdragon 865 SoC, 65W fast charging technology, and 48MP quad rear cameras.

After lots of leaks and rumors, the OnePlus 8T has finally been announced in India. The OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8 are quite similar to each other in the hardware department. Both of them feature a Snapdragon 865 chipset, punch-hole display, 5G connectivity, and more. However, the 8T features a 120Hz display, which is only available on the OnePlus 8 Pro. It also gets a 48MP quad rear cameras housed inside a rectangular module, 65W Warp Charge technology, and a 4,500mAh battery. Alongside the 8T, the brand also released a limited edition of the OnePlus Nord.
OnePlus 8T: Price in India & Availability
The OnePlus 8T price in India is Rs. 42,999 for the entry-level variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You can get the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model for Rs. 45,999. It will come in Lunar Silver and Aquamarine Green colorways and go on sales in India from October 16 for OnePlus Red Cable Club and Amazon Prime members. Regular users will have to wait until October 17 to purchase the phone via Amazon India, OnePlus.in, and select retail stores.

If you have HDFC Bank credit or credit card, you will get an instant 10 percent discount on Amazon India along with no-cost EMIs for up to 6 months. You can also get Rs. 1,000 discount if you purchase the phone from OnePlus offline stores or OnePlus India using an HDFC debit card. With HDFC Bank credit card, buyers will get Rs. 2,000 discount in offline stores from October 16 or OnePlus India from October 24. For Jio users, OnePlus 8T buyers will get benefits worth up to Rs. 6,000.
Moving to the OnePlus Nord Limited Edition, it will be up for sales for Rs. 29,999 in Grey Ash color. The edition will have 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and available via OnePlus India and Amazon India.
OnePlus 8T: Specifications & Features
Just like the OnePlus 8, this phone also gets a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, a tall 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. There is a punch-hole cut-out at the top left corner for a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor for selfies and video calls. Under the hood, it rocks the same Snapdragon 865 chipset, assisted by 8 / 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It ships with Android 11-based Oxygen 11 out of the box to take care of the software side of things. Fueling the OnePlus 8T is a 4,500 mAh battery, that charges at up to 65W thanks to the 65W Warp Charge technology.

Moving to the camera department, the 8T also gets a quad-camera lens setup at the back, led by a 48MP Sony IM586 main sensor with EIS, OIS, and an aperture of f/1.7. The other three units on the setup include a 16MP ultra-wide camera with a 123-degree viewing angle, a 2MP monochrome lens, and a 5MP macro camera with a 3cm focal length. They are back by features like dual-LED flash, Nightscape, CINE Aspect Ratio video recording, 4K video recording at 30fps, AI scene detection, and more.

Just like the OnePlus 8 series, the 8T also gets both an in-display fingerprint reader and Face Unlock for security. Other features include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, 5G / 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Dual SIMs, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C port, NFC, and GPS / GLONASS.
