HMD Global has silently launched the Nokia 7.2 in India. The handset is positioned in the mid-range segment as a direct successor to the Nokia 7.1 that launched last year. Highlights of the Nokia 7.2 include water-drop notch, 48MP triple rear camera setup with Zeiss optics, always-on PureView screen, and polymer composite chassis. According to the company, the build of the phone is not only twice as strong as the polycarbonate but also has half the weight of aluminum as well.
Nokia 7.2: Availability & Price
The handset is priced at Rs. 18,599 in India for the variant with 4GB of RAM / 64GB of storage, while the price goes up to Rs. 19,599 for the 6GB of RAM / 64GB storage model. It will be available in Cyan Green and Charcoal color variants and go on sale from 23 September via Nokia e-store, Flipkart, and leading retail stores.
As for launch offers, buyers can get 10 percent cashback if they use HDFC Bank debit and credit cards on regular and EMI transactions via Pinelabs terminals in retail stores. Purchasing the Nokia 7.2 via Nokia.com/phones can get a gift card worth Rs. 2,000.
Nokia 7.2: Specifications
The handset sports a 6.3-inch PureView screen with FHD+ resolution, 500nits brightness, and always-on HDR. As mentioned, it also has a small waterdrop notch on top of the display for a selfie camera. At the back, there is a triple camera setup, stacked in a circular module. The system includes a 48MP main sensor, a 5MP depth-sensing camera, and an 8MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it has a 20MP Zeiss quad-pixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
There is a Snapdragon 660 chipset ticking at its core along with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage, which is expandable via a microSD card slot up to 512GB. In terms of software, it ships with Android 9.0 Pie at launch, though the handset is Android 10-ready. Fueling the phone is a 3,500 mAh unit that supports 10W charging solution. Other features include a fingerprint reader at its back, Google Assistant, dual-SIM slot, Wi-Fi, USB-C port, NFC, headphone jack, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE.
