Details of the upcoming Nokia-branded handset from HMD Global, the Nokia 6.2 has been surfaced online once again. This new leak has revealed quite a few specs of the phone as well as its launch date and price. The handset, which was said to come out earlier in the year, will likely be unveiled at a launch event in August in China alongside the Nokia 7.2. The phone will be launched as the successor to the Nokia 6.1 that launched last year. Aside from that, the handset is said to feature a similar design to the Nokia X71 that is exclusive to the Chinese market.
As per IT Homes’ report, the upcoming Nokia 6.2 will sport a 6.0-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a punch hole on the front. Powering the device will be a Snapdragon 660 SoC, instead of a Snapdragon 632 as recently tipped. On the camera front, it is said to feature a camera system stacked vertically with Carl Zeiss lenses. The setup will likely include a 20MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP depth sensor.
The handset is also expected to pack 6GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage and a 3,300 mAh battery, according to the report. In addition, it will also be a part of Google’s Android One program just like other Nokia phones. Therefore, we can expect the phone to come with Android 9 Pie at launch.
In terms of price, its base variant with 4GB RAM might be priced from CNY 1,199 which is equivalent to around Rs. 12,000, whereas the models with 6GB RAM might be retailed at CNY 1,499 (around Rs. 15,000). As for the release date, the report suggests that the phone should be announced in the third quarter this year.
