After launching the international market in late March, HMD Global hasn't revealed its plan to release the Nokia 5.3 in the Indian market. This is one of the Nokia branded smartphones, promising to bring high value for the money. The highlights of this phone include quad cameras at the back, Snapdragon 665 SoC, and a large battery. However, we are also not happy about certain aspects of this phone, which will talk more in detail in this Nokia 5.3 review. The Nokia 5.3 price in India is expected to be Rs. 12,000, which is similar to the Redmi Note 9 Pro or Realme Narzo 10.
Mediocre appearance
Nokia 5.3 is quite lightweight, which is about 185 grams and has a rough plastic back, so it is less likely to be prone to fingerprints, sweats, and scratches.
The back of the device has a set of four cameras, surrounding a LED flash. They are housed inside a circular module in the top middle and slightly protrudes. Below the camera cluster is a fingerprint sensor and the Nokia logo. The fingerprint scanner on the back is consistent, but the scanning time is not too fast. However, it is still pretty good considering the fact that the Nokia 5.3 price in India is only around Rs. 12,000.
On the front, the screen of the Nokia phone is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
At the top, the display has a teardrop-shaped notch to accommodate an 8 MP selfie camera while the bottom chin of the device is slightly thicker with the Nokia logo in the center. As the Nokia 5.3 price in India is only around Rs. 12,000, having a punch-hole display is still uncommon for a smartphone in the price range.
4 cameras with lots of features, night photography, and 4,000 mAh battery capacity
The 6.5-inch HD + IPS screen of the Nokia 5.3 is not sharp but impresses me with its high contrast and brightness, making it easy to see even under sunlight. The black color displayed on this screen is fairly well reproduced. Overall, its screen quality is good and the 20:9 aspect ratio makes this a good choice for consuming media. Again, I have to remind you that the Nokia 5.3 price in India will only be around Rs. 12,000, so you shouldn't expect too much.
The handset is part of Android One and comes pre-installed with Android 10 and promises to get updated to Android 11 in the future. From there, Nokia 5.3 brings a pure Android experience, no 3rd-party apps, and is promised to get updates in the next three years.
Powering the device is a Snapdragon 665 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM. The phone runs daily tasks relatively smoothly and handles games like PUBG Mobile at medium graphics settings pretty well.
A significant highlight on Nokia 5.3 is the integrated 4-camera system including a 13 MP main camera with an aperture of F / 1.8, a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 2 MP macro camera. Both the front and rear cameras support portrait mode and work well in day-light conditions.
The Nokia 5.3 camera app includes a night mode for low-light photography, which delivers quite good results. Night mode on Nokia 5.3 also works on wide-angle shots.
Verdict
Overall, the Nokia 5.3 specs are great for its price tag. This product has a lot of advantages such as a high-contrast screen, decently-powerful chipset, a good quad-camera setup, long battery life, and long software support. However, there are some significant drawbacks that you need to consider before making the purchase. It has a pretty simple design, a low-resolution screen display, a mediocre fingerprint sensor, and lack of fast charging support.
Sadly, the launch date of this phone is still unknown, so the Nokia 5.3 price in India is also unavailable at the moment, but we believe it should be around Rs. 12,000. How do you feel about the Nokia 5.3? Will you buy the phone if it indeed arrives in India at a price of Rs. 12,000 or you think that there is a much better option?
