Although COVID-19 has made 2020 a horrible year for many, there are no stopping smartphone brands from releasing new models. And as the world’s second-largest market for phones, India is always on the top priority list.
January has seen some major brands launching 5G-compatible phones so we expect to see this trend continues in February.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Series
Xiaomi introduced its first phone powered by the new Snapdragon 888 chipset last year in China so it comes as no surprise that the company is looking to bring the phone to the international market.
The MI 11 is the successor of the Mi 10 flagship launched in India last year. The phone is retailed in China for CNY 3,999, around Rs. 44,999. However, rumor has it that the company will launch two versions of the Mi 11 in the country – Mi 11 and Mi 11 Lite.
If Xiaomi imports the devices from China, Indian users will have to put up with a price hike, much like last year.
Realme X7 Series
Realme has jumped on the 5G bandwagon to compete with other players like OnePlus, Oppo, and Xiaomi. Realme X7 is the company’s answer to the 5G trend and it was launched in China in September 2020. What we can expect is a February launch in India.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by Dimensity 800U and MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ processor. The phone has an AMOLED display, support for 65W fast-charging, and 64MP quad-camera.
While Realme has not confirmed the launch date and the price tag of the device, we expect the phone’s price to starts at CNY 1,799, or Rs. 20,000.
Poco M3
Two months after the launch of Poco M2, the Poco M3 was introduced and rumor has it that the phone will make it to India this February.
However, since Poco hasn’t said anything about launching the phone in India so you should take the news with a pinch of salt.
Anyway, the phone is rumored to come in two variants and their starting price is approximately Rs. 11,000.
Redmi Note 10 Series
Along with the Mi 11, Xiaomi also plans to launch the Redmi Note 10 series in the country next month. Last year has seen lots of rumors about the device surfacing. Xiaomi even got certifications for the Note line in Russia later last year.
According to Ishan Agarwal, a well-known tipster, Xiaomi will launch the Note 10 and Note 10 Pro in India in the coming month, adding to its 5G phone portfolio. However, there is no news on the exact launch date. The best part is, the two phones will have an aggressive pricing scheme to compete with other budget-friendly 5G phones in India.
The upcoming Note 10 and 10 Pro will be the very first Redmi phones to have 5G connectivity. They will run on a MediaTek Dimensity 800-series processor.
Samsung Galaxy A52
Samsung has already introduced its champions for the premium price bracket and it’s time for the company to grab the budget market with the Galaxy A52. The device was recently seen on Geekbench and it is projected to be launched in India sometime in February 2021.
As per rumors and leaks, Galaxy A52 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. Its front will have a punch-hole notch to house the selfie camera. On the other side, there is a quad-camera setup to take photos.
According to a more recent report, Samsung has already received BIS (short for Bureau of Indian Standard) certification and its Noida factory is making the phones as we speak. If this is to be believed, we can expect to see the Galaxy A52 pretty soon.
The South Korean tech giant is rumored to release two variants of the phone – a 5G and a 4G-only.
Oppo F19
February will reportedly see the Oppo F19 making it to India. After releasing a Dimensity 1000 Plus powered phone in the country, the brand is planning to introduce new smartphones in the F series.
The new phones will be called either Oppo F19 or Oppo F21, according to Tushar Mehta of XDA Developers.
Mehta said the Oppo F19 and its Pro variant would be launched in India in February.
