The Chinese phone maker Oppo keeps releasing new smartphones at a consistent pace. Recently, a new Oppo phone has just surfaced on popular Chinese certification site TENAA. The smartphone’s identity remains unknown, but it was spotted under the model name PCDT00 and PCDM00. That means the phone will come in two variants, according to the listing on TENAA. The phone’s design and specifications are also revealed on the listing.
Oppo PCDT00/PCDM00
According to the listing on TENAA, this unknown Oppo phone is said to launch in the budget segment. It bears a similar design to some recent Oppo phones, and it also comes with a V-shaped water-drop notch on its display. The phone is expected to be offered in several color options, including Black, Red, and Blue. It also seems like the Oppo handset will feature a polycarbonate body with gold accents around the phone’s camera module and the fingerprint sensor on the rear.
It is tipped to sport a 6.2-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a weight of 170g. The handset will come packed with an Helio P35 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM/64GB expandable storage via a microSD slot.
In the camera department, the phone is likely to sport a dual camera setup stacked horizontally on the rear. The setup includes a 13MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The main camera on the rear will only be able to record videos at 1080p with no 4K support. There is also a 16MP selfie camera on the front. It will be backed by a 4,100 mAh battery, but it is still unknown whether it will have support for fast charging.
The Oppo smartphone will run Oppo’s ColorOS based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It is quite disappointing as most of the phones in this year are all expected to run the latest Android 9 Pie instead of the 1-year-old Android 8.1 Oreo. For now, there is no information regarding the phone’s availability and pricing. We will update as soon as there is more information about this device.
