The Motorola One 5G Ace is Motorola One 5G’s new version. It has been announced at CES 2021 alongside several other phones. While it doesn’t offer high specs like its predecessor, it is one of the cheapest 5G phones.
Certainly, the One 5G Ace is a mid-range 5G phone that has decent specs and cameras that is more affordable than many other 5G smartphones.
With a lower price, the One 5G Ace uses a Snapdragon 750G chipset rather than the Snapdragon 765G, the more powerful one. It starts at 64GB of internal storage instead of 128GB like the older One 5G. And it doesn’t have a depth sensor.
Motorola One 5G Ace Release Date
In the US, the release date of the Motorola One 5G Ace is set for January. So US consumers can start pre-order the phone now.
Motorola One 5G Ace Price
The price of the One 5G Ace is $399, a bit cheaper compared to the $444.99 price of the older One 5G. With slightly fewer specs, it is understandable that Motorola has dropped the price of the One 5G Ace.
Motorola One 5G Ace price in India is expected to be Rs 29,390.
Motorola One 5G Ace Design
When you hold the Motorola One 5G Ace in hand, it doesn’t feel like a cheap phone, even if the case is made of plastic. There are two colors available, Frosted Silver and Volcanic Gray. The Frosted Siler color looks pretty stylish.
In terms of design, it looks similar to the One 5G. Most noticeably, Motorola got rid of the lock button-and-fingerprint-sensor and split them into a rear-mounted sensor and a lock button. The back of the phone has a houndstooth-like pattern. This combined with a quad-camera module with smaller camera nodes actually makes the phone look a little classier than its predecessor.
At the bottom of the phone are a headphone jack, right next to the USB-C charging port. The One 5G Ace measures 6.5 x 3 x 0.39 inches. It is bulky, for a 5G phone. It is taller than the TCL 10 5G and OnePlus Nord N10 5G.
Motorola One 5G Ace Display
The smartphone features a 6.7-inch LCD display, bigger than the displays of the two phones we mentioned above. With the fingerprint reader moved to the side of the phone, the screen has minimal bezels. At the center of the screen is a punch-hole cutout housing the front camera. That means users have a lot of room for streaming videos.
When measured with a light meter, the phone has a maximum brightness of 635 nits, brighter than phones that are in the same price range like the TCL 10 5G at 385 nits and OnePlus Nord N10 at 405.7 nits.
Motorola One 5G Ace Cameras
Motorola hasn’t made many changes to the camera optics of the One 5G Ace. However, the smartphone doesn’t have the depth sensor that is on the original Motorola One.
The One 5G Ace has a 48MP main camera accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro lens. Those cameras can’t beat the best camera phones on the market, but they produce quite some solid photos.
While there are two selfie cameras on the original Motorola One 5G, this model has a single 16MP front shooter. The photos the camera produces looks decent, not something spectacular.
Motorola One 5G Ace Specs & Performance
At a lower price, the phone has a lesser processor that can still handle daily tasks. The Motorola One 5G Ace is powered by the Snapdragon 750G, a step back from the One 5G’s Snapdragon 765G.
In Geekbench 5, the phone managed to score 1,983, slightly better than the first Motorola One’s 1,952 scores.
The smartphone got a similar result for graphics testing. In the Wild Life Unlimited test, the Motorola One 5G Ace reached 1,097 frames. It is outperformed by the TCL 10 5G with a 1,670 result. However, the smartphone had no problem running PUBG Mobile.
Motorola One 5G Ace Battery
The Motorola One 5G Ace, like its predecessor, comes with a 5,000mAh battery. The first One 5G lasted 9 hours and 14 minutes with continuous surfing using a cellular network. Meanwhile, the Ace managed to last 12 hours and 3 minutes, which is impressive.
In terms of charging, it takes quite an amount of time to charge the phone. It takes half an hour to charge the battery capacity to 25%. For comparison, the Nord N10 5G could reach 68% in that same amount of time with Warp Charge 30T tech of OnePlus.
That is all the information that we have got regarding the Motorola One 5G Ace release date, price, and specs. We hope that it can help you decide whether to spend your money on the device or not.
