Motorola One 5G Release Date

Motorola launched the device in September 2020. It goes by the name Motorola One 5G in the US while in the UK and Europe, it is sold under a different name, the Moto G 5G Plus.

The One 5G has only one version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Its price is $444.49. Meanwhile, the G 5G Plus has a variant with 64GB of storage. Motorola One 5G Design

The Motorola One 5G is a plus-sized handset, for sure. Compared to its siblings, it is bigger. It has a larger screen but it isn’t too wide. The dimensions of the phone are 168 x 74 x 9mm. It weighs 207g, so it is a bit heavier than your normal handset.

The screen takes up most of the space on the front with a fairly minimal bezel and the dual punch-hole cutouts housing the cameras.

At the back are a square camera bump, the Motorola logo, and a large flash module. The back of the phone is made of plastic. However, it doesn’t feel cheap at all.

The smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which is a surprise since the fingerprint scanner of Moto G phones is typically on the back. On the front, you have a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture for group shots. In well-lit conditions, photos look pretty good. Selfies have plenty of detail. When you switch to the main camera, Portrait mode produces generally good bokeh effects.

For a selfie camera, you have a beauty mode. But to be honest, the pictures look horrifying.

On the back, you have a 48MP main camera with an f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide one with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro lens with an aperture of f/2.2, and a 2MP f2/2 depth camera.

In terms of detail, photos from the main camera are fine. But they aren’t freat for contrast or color. Optical zoom isn’t available. However, you have an 8x digital zoom. The smartphone can record 4K videos.

The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset which you would normally find in some high mid-range smartphones. Thanks to it, the One 5G feels snappier than other Moto phones.

Apps load quickly and games play smoothly. In a benchmark test, the device managed to score 1822. While it isn’t an incredible score, for its price point, it is great. Its score is right above the Oppo Reno 2 at 1739 and below the Honor 9x Pro at 1858.
