Finally, after so many leaks and rumors, Motorola finally unveils its flagship series, including Motorola Edge and Motorola Edge+. While the former is a mid-range smartphone with a Snapdragon 765G SoC & 64MP triple rear camera setup, the latter is a flagship device with the top-end Snapdragon 865 chipset and a triple camera cluster with a whopping 108MP main sensor. Both smartphones rock a curved AMOLED panel with a 90Hzrefresh rate, which Motorola calls ‘Endless Edge’ display. Aside from these, both phones also ship with a near-stock version of Android 10, 5G connectivity, and a headphone jack.
Motorola Edge & Motorola Edge+: Price & Availability
The Motorola Edge is priced at €599 (around Rs. 49,400) while the Motorola Edge+ price is set at $999 (around Rs. 76,300). The two smartphones will make their way in India, but the exact launch date is still under wraps. The vanilla Motorola Edge color variants include Solar Black and Midnight Magenta while the brand offers the Edge+ in Smoky Sangria and Thunder Grey colorways.
Motorola Edge: Specifications & Features
The handset rocks a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and a punch-hole at the upper left corner. It is powered by a Snapdragon 765G SoC at the helm, which is integrated with a 5G modem. It is only available in a single memory configuration with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is a 4,500 mAh battery under the hood to keep the lights on and it can be refilled with the 15W TurboCharge fast charging technology over a USB-C port.
For photography, it gets a triple camera cluster on the rear, including a 64MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide camera that also works as a macro shooter, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and PDAF. On the front, it has a 25MP camera that can be used to take selfies and video chats. Other features include the latest Android 10, Waves audio stereo speakers, My UX app, splash-resistant coating, headphone jack, and in-display fingerprint reader.
Motorola Edge+: Specifications & Features
Just like the vanilla model, the Plus version is also wrapped by a 6.7-inch Endless Edge panel on the front that is curved on both sides. The display also has a punch-hole to house a selfie camera and support FHD+ resolution, HDR10+, and 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is driven by a Snapdragon 865 SoC along with an integrated modem for 5G connectivity. Unlike the vanilla version, this phone is packed with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
It is also powered by a beefier battery with a 5,000mAh capacity, but only supports 15W wired charging. Unlike its sibling, Motorola allows Edge+ owners to use wireless and reverse wireless charging features on this phone. The handset also runs on Android 10 at launch and has a My UX app that integrates signature Motorola experiences and the new Edge interface controls, including Edge notifications and Edge gaming.
In terms of camera, it is also equipped with a triple camera lens cluster at the back. However, instead of a 64MP, its setup comprises a whopping 108MP main sensor, alongside a 16MP ultra-wide & macro shooter as well as an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, PDAF, and OIS. Just like its sibling, Motorola also goes for a 25MP camera placed inside the front cut-out for selfies. Other features are an under-display fingerprint sensor, a headphone jack, Waves audio stereo speakers, and splash-resistant coating.
Motorola Edge price: around Rs. 49,400
