Vivo's sub-brand iQOO has been reported to come to India very soon. One of the smartphones that the brand is planning to release in the country is iQOO 3. Now, the company has sent out media invites for the handset’s launch in India. The iQOO 3 will be announced in China and India on the same day, 25 February. If there is no other phone with similar specs launched in India at an earlier date, the phone will be the first phone to come with a Snapdragon 865 SoC. For now, we are not sure whether it will come with a 5G modem for the 5G connectivity since the network hasn't been available in India.
iQOO 3: Specifications
Prior to the media invite, there have already been a lot of rumors and leaks about the iQOO 3. As per a recent TENAA listing, the handset could be available in multiple RAM variants with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Being a flagship smartphone, it should pack 128GB, 256GB, and even 512GB storage. It has also been confirmed to come with the fast UFS 3.1 storage. Recently Geekbench listing also shows that the handset will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 SoC & 12GB RAM.
On the front, the handset is tipped to sport a 6.44-inch AMOLED panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. The display might feature the punch-hole design, according to an alleged live photo of the phone. It also makes sense as many smartphone makers have shown their plan to use the design on their high-end smartphones like OnePlus with the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, Samsung with its recently-announced Galaxy S20 series, and Xiaomi with the newly-released Mi 10 & Mi 10 Pro.
Official teasers have confirmed that the handset will rock a quad-camera cluster on its rear panel, which is listed on TENAA to include a 48MP main sensor along with 13MP + 2MP + 2MP sensors. On the front, it will likely have a 16MP camera for selfies and pack a 4,410 mAh battery under the hood with support for 55W fast charging standard.
