The Honor 9X & Honor 9X Pro made their debut in China back in July last year. Both of them are driven by Huawei’s Kirin 810 SoC and positioned in the mid-range segment. Now, the brand seems to be releasing the third addition to the series dubbed Honor 9X Lite.
A recent poster of the Honor 9X Lite emerged on the Internet last week and it showed key specs and rear design of the upcoming phone. According to the poster, the Honor 9X Lite will be available in at least a Green color variant. At the back, it will get a dual-camera setup, one of which will be a 48MP sensor and the other will be a depth sensor just like its sibling Honor 9X. Alongside the two sensors, there will be an LED flash placed in the same camera module.
The handset on the poster is also shown to carry a fingerprint reader on the rear while the power button and volume rocker are located on the right spine.
Apart from the poster, the Honor 9X Lite has also bagged Google Play certification and been spotted on the list of Google Play certified devices. The handset was listed in three different model numbers, including JSN-L23, JSN-L22, and JSN-L21. Since the handset still has Google Play certification, we expect it to come with a Kirin 710 or Kirin 710F SoC, just like other Huawei and Honor’s mid-range smartphones launched since the US ban took effect.
Huawei’s Kirin 810 SoC hasn’t been certified yet and that is why Huawei and Honor mid-range smartphones launched outside China are still driven by either Kirin 710 or Kirin 710F SoC instead of the more powerful Kirin 810 SoC.
There is no word about the Honor 9X Lite release date, but it could be near. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated.
