Honor 20i Vs Redmi Note 7 Pro Vs Realme 3 Pro: The Tense Competition Under Rs 15,000

Honor rolled out its Honor 20i, but it is facing too much competition as Xiaomi launched its Redmi Note 7 pro while Realme launched its Realme 3 Pro.

Recently, Honor rolled out its Honor 20i to the Indian market, but it is facing too much competition in the market because, at the same time, Xiaomi launched its Redmi Note 7 pro while Realme launched its Realme 3 Pro with the same price point of Rs 14,999. In the smartphone market, these three are competing with each other.

Since Honor decided to sell the 20i at a price point lower than Rs 15,000, it is competing directly with the Note 7 Pro as well as the Realme 3 Pro. So how do these phones compare?

Display and design

The design is the same in Xiaomi's Note 7 Pro, Realme 3 Pro, and Honor 20i smartphones. All the three smartphones feature the waterdrop display, along with a full HD+ display measuring 6.3 inches. One thing which may differ is the screen quality.

The 20i is lighter and slimmer than the Realme 3 Pro and the Note 7 Pro. It is 164 grams heavy and 7.95mm thick, while Redmi Note 7 Pro is 186 grams heavy and 8.1mm thick and Realme 3 Pro has a thickness of 8.3mm and weight of 172 grams. The Redmi Note 7 Pro offers Gorilla Glass 5 for protection on its back, making it the heaviest, while the others provide curved plastic panels.

Honor offers three different colors for the 20i - Gradient Blue, Midnight Black, and Phantom Red. Meanwhile, Xiaomi's phone is available in Space Black, Nebula Red, and Neptune Blue colors; and Realme's handset comes in Nitro Blue, Lightning Purple, and Carbon Grey colors. All of them have a fingerprint sensor on the back panel. However, only the Note 7 Pro offers Type-C USB port, the others come with micro USB ports. Redmi Note 7 Pro and Honor 20i offer hybrid SIM slots, but Realme's device comes with triple SIM card dedicated to a memory card and two Nano SIMs.

Xiaomi's Note 7 Pro is the only one among these three that offers protection with Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides, while the other two sport curved plastic panels. This gives a premium feel to the phone, but all three devices look great in their own way.

Hardware

Redmi Note 7 Pro gets an Adreno 612 GPU and 2 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 675 SoC, while the Realme 3 Pro comes with the Adreno 616 GPU and 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 710 AIE chipset; and Honor gives the 20i the Mali G51 GPU and powerful 2.2 GHz octa-core Kirin 710 processor to enhance your gaming experience, the phone also supports GPU Turbo 2.0. The Realme 3 Pro and Redmi Note 7 Pro are available in variants with up to 6GB of RAM but the Honor 20i comes with a single variant of 4GB RAM.

All three models offer fast and smooth performance during daily tasks. The Honor 20i gets an advantage in gaming because of its fast Turbo GPU 2.0, but Realme also gets some help in gaming with its faster GPU.

Battery

Battery capacity is an essential part of every handset. The Note 7 Pro offers a 4,000mAh battery with support for fast charging, but you get only a 10W charger with the phone. The Honor 20i packs a 3,400mAh battery, it does not come with fast charging support, and you get a 10W charger in the shipment box, and the Realme 3 Pro comes with the highest battery capacity of 4,045mAh which supports VOOC 3.0 quick charging, and you get a 20W fast charger in the box.

The Realme 3 Pro comes with a 16MP Sony IMX 519 primary camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP secondary depth camera. Only Honor 20i offers a triple camera module. It gets a 24MP main camera with an aperture of f/1.8  along with an 8MP wide-angle camera, as well as a 2MP depth sensor.

On the front, the Note 7 Pro offers a 13MP selfie camera, the Realme 3 Pro gets a 25MP selfie camera, and the Honor 20i offers a higher 32MP selfie camera. This shows that Honor 20i is capable of clicking clear and sharp selfies.

Software

Essential Phone Android Pie 1
Android Pie 9

The Honor 20i, Redmi Note 7 and Realme 3 Pro run on Android 9 along with their own UI/UX. The Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with MIUI 10 along with some preloaded apps like Mi Browser, Mi Community, Mi music, Mi videos, etc. On the other hand, the Honor 20i runs on EMUI 9 which offers some preloaded apps such as Party Mode, Ride Mode, Honor Club, and Hi Care. Meanwhile, the Realme 3 Pro supports ColorOS 6.0 along with some pre-installed apps like Daily Hunt, News Point, Wynk music, UC Browser, and Amazon. It means all three phones offer excellent customization options.

All these phones offer various exciting features with fast performances. If you are a selfie lover, then you should go with the Honor 20i which provides the highest 32 MP camera for clicking clear selfies. If you are a traveler and want fast charging support with a good backup, then you should choose Realme 3 Pro, which offers fast charging support and a fast charger. And, if you are pretty obsessed with landscape photography and want to capture every beautiful sunset and sunrise then, consider the Redmi Note 7 Pro which comes with 48MP rear camera and 5MP depth sensor.
