Huawei's’ sub-brand Honor just announced their latest flagship offerings called Honor 20 and 20 Pro. The duo will be available for sale in the Indian market via Flipkart and it will go up against the likes of the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. When it comes to hardware specifications, the two new Honor 20 phones are on the same level with some high-end offerings in the market. They feature attractive design and offer huge value for the money. In our comparison, we will be pit the two against each other to see what are their differences and similarities.
Honor 20 vs. Honor 20 Pro: Price
While the standard Honor 20 is priced at €499 (around Rs. 38,900) for the single variant with 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage. The Pro version comes with a higher price tag of €599 (around Rs. 46,700). The exact pricing of the duo in India will be revealed when they come to the country on 11 June.
Honor 20 vs Honor 20 Pro: Specifications
Let’s start with the similarities first. Both handset sport a 6.26-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a hole on the top left corner to house a selfie camera. Both of the phones have the same 32MP selfie camera up front so you would expect similar outcomes from them.
Powering both handsets is a Kirin 980 SoC which is the most powerful chipset by Huawei, and it’s comparable in terms of performance to the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 SoC. They also share the same fingerprint scanner that is mounted on the power button.
Other similarities include 225W fast charging support, USB-C port, Android 9 Pie-based Magic OS 2.1.
Moving to the differences, they are offered in different color variants. While the standard model comes in Sapphire Blue, Icelandic White, and Midnight Black color options, users can buy the Pro version in Phantom Black or Phantom Blue. In terms of memory configuration, the standard version has 6GB of RAM + 128GB of storage while Honor packs the Honor 20 Pro with 8GB of RAM + 256GB of storage. The Pro model also features a large 4,000 mAh battery whereas the other variant is fueled by a 3,750 mAh cell.
Honor 20 vs. Honor 20 Pro: Camera
Cameras are where the two have the most differences. Even though both of them come with a quad camera system on the rear, they still have quite a few differences. The first noticeable difference is the 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor on the Pro model with an f/1.4 aperture which is the first in a smartphone and OIS, whereas the standard version also has a 48MP primary sensor, but it has an f/1.8 lens without OIS.
The Honor 20 Pro also features a secondary 8MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3X optical zoom. Meanwhile, the secondary camera on the Honor 20 is a 2MP depth sensor only. The other two are the same on both phones, which are a 16MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera.
With these differences, I bet the Honor 20 Pro should deliver superior photos compared to its sibling. However, it is better to wait for detailed reviews to jump into the conclusion.
