Xiaomi has been climbing to the top of the mobile industry in the last couple of years with the launching of many excellent phones, especially in the mid-range and budget segment. This year, the Chinese company has launched some notable phones such as the Mi A2, Pocophone F1, Redmi Note 5 Pro, and the Mi 8 series. As 2018 draws to a close, check out some of the phones that Xiaomi will launch in the next year.
Poco F2
Poco F1 is one of the highly successful Xiaomi's phone this year
The Pocophone brand, first introduced in August 2018, was a new brand whose the Poco F1 was a solid contender even against flagship phones. Recently, the Xiaomi-own brand just unveiled a new model of the Poco F1 with 6GB of RAM, so we didn’t expect info of the successor to the Poco F1 to come out this early.
For now, some leaks suggested that the Poco F1’s successor may be called as Poco F2, will come packed with the Snapdragon 845 which is the same as the Poco F1 and run Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10. The phone was also spotted on Geekbench packing 6GB of RAM. But since the Poco F1 already has up to 8GB of RAM, its successor is unlikely to come with a single 6GB of RAM option. This is just the early details of the phone, so hopefully, Xiaomi can bring more interesting features and upgrades instead of just operating software and minor upgrades only.
Xiaomi Redmi 7 Pro
The phone is expected to release in this year, and it will be one of the next Xiaomi smartphones to have a water-drop notched display. The phone is already revealed by previous leaks to sport a 5.84-inch FHD+ LCD and come packed with an octa-core processor that clocks up to 2.3GHz. In addition, it will be offered in three variants, including a base variant with 4GB RAM/32GB storage, another model with 4GB RAM/64GB storage and the top-end option with 6GB RAM/128GB of storage. Its storage is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD slot.
On the back, the phone is expected to feature a 12MP main camera, but details of the secondary camera are unknown. There will be an 8MP camera on the front. Several leaks also suggest that the handset will come in quite a lot of colour options, including Grey, Silver, Green, Gold, Yellow, Pink, Purple, White, Blue and Black.
Xiaomi Mi 9
As the Xiaomi Mi 8 got a lot of success, many people have been wondering what Xiaomi could do to wow the users with the Mi 8’s successor. The answer could be a triple camera system on the rear with a 48MP main sensor.
To be more specific, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to feature a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with 0.8µm pixels alongside with a 16MP depth sensor and a 13MP wide angle sensor.
That is all details that have been revealed so far, but Xiaomi has been offering nothing but the best on their phones so there is a possibility that the phone may come packed with the upcoming Snapdragon 855 SoC, coupled with from 6GB to 10GB RAM. This Xiaomi phone could also have 5G capability and support for Quick Charge 5.0.
Redmi Pro 2
Xiaomi’s president previously confirmed that there would be a Xiaomi phone with a 48MP camera launched in January this year. Some sources suggested that that phone could be the successor of a Xiaomi phone that released in 2016. And if it is correct, then the phone Xiaomi referred to is the Redmi Pro 2.
The phone was also suggested to feature a Snapdragon 675 processor, and it could be the first Xiaomi phone in the mid-range segment to come with the latest in-display camera design.
Redmi Go
This phone is rumored to be the first Xiaomi’s Android Go phone and will have only 1GB RAM. The reason why it comes packed with such low RAM is that it will run the Go Edition of Android 9 Pie which is a light version of Android designed to work on devices with 1GB or less RAM. the phone is also expected to have support for Dual SIM and connectivity options such as 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. The screen size of this phone will most likely be under 6 inches.
