After the Q1 results of Alphabet, CFO Ruth Porat announced that the launch on 7 May will take place at the company’s conference by its hardware team. Last month, Google accidentally announced the launch date on 7 May on the official website “On May 7, meet a new hero”. As its conference is taking place on 7 May in the United States, and on 8 May in India, Google Pixel 3A/3A XL smartphones are expected to debut around the similar time on Flipkart.
These devices have been leaked in the last few months. For example, Evan Blass, a famous tipster previously revealed a smartphone in faded purple colour while other press renders showed the devices in black and white like Pixel 3 smartphone.
These Pixel phones are said to be the successors of those in the Nexus lineup with more affordable prices than the Pixel smartphones. In addition, the company is said to offer camera setup like the flagship devices such as a 12MP rear sensor with AI support like Pixel smartphones. Also, the handset is expected to come with a Snapdragon 670 chipset compared to Snapdragon 845 chipset equipped on new Pixel 3 devices. The SoC probably comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage options. And the upcoming Pixel 3A smartphone is said to sport an FHD+ (1080p) display.
Additionally, Geekbench recently revealed that the 3A XL smartphone could come with a Snapdragon 710 chipset. Meanwhile, the 3A might be powered by a Snapdragon 670 SoC. Also, according to the listing, the 3A is expected to have 4GB RAM and run Android 9.0 Pie at launch.
The I/O developer conference is set to take place from 7 May to 9 May at Shoreline Amphitheatre located in Mountain View, California. Besides, in addition to the launch of Google Pixel 3A/3A XL, Google will also introduce its updates to Google Assistant, Android and more.
