Even though the Chinese phone maker Gionee declared bankruptcy late 2018, it seems like the brand hasn’t gone out of business yet. The proof is that the company has just introduced a new smartphone called Gionee Steel 5. Although the brand hasn’t released the availability and price of the phone, we believe that the handset is most likely positioned in the entry-level segment. Notably, it is equipped with a 6.2-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 720p. In terms of camera, it gets a dual 12MP + 2MP camera setup at the back and a 13MP selfie shooter housed on the water-drop notch on the front. It also packs a massive 5,000 mAh battery, which should be enough for a two-day battery life.

Gionee Steel 5: Price & Availability
As mentioned, the brand hasn’t revealed the Gionee Steel 5 price and availability. However, judging from its specs, we believe it should be priced under Rs. 10,000.

The device will be available in two variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM / 128GB storage.
Gionee Steel 5: Specifications & Features
On the front, the handset is covered by a 6.2-inch HD display with a water-drop notch, which houses a 13MP camera for selfies and video chats. At the back, there is a dual-camera cluster, including a 12MP main sensor and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. The setup is housed in a square camera module, which is quite similar to that of the Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

Powering the device is an octa-core chipset, but the exact identity of the chipset is still unknown. Combine with the processor is 4/6GB of RAM and 64/128GB storage. It gets fuel from a massive 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging support. Connectivity options include two SIM card slot and 4G connectivity. Finally, it boots Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with AmigoOS on top.
