Samsung might release the Galaxy Fold 2 and Galaxy S11 series together on 18 February next year. The forthcoming Galaxy Unpacked event is suggested by tipster Ice Universe. Even though Samsung hasn’t confirmed the tipped launch date yet, the company usually releases the Galaxy S series in February, ahead of the MWC event. There will likely be three models in the Galaxy S11 series, including Galaxy S11, S11 Plus, and S11e. Not just that, the brand is tipped to announce the successor to the Galaxy Fold, which could carry a clamshell design.
Galaxy S11 Series & Galaxy Fold 2: Launch date
As per Ice Universe’s tweet, the launch date of the Galaxy S11 will be 18 February and the launch event will be held in San Francisco, USA. The Galaxy Fold 2 might also make its appearance there as well. However, we have only heard a few things about the handset for now. Announcing the device on 18 February would allow the company to showcase it at the MWC 2020 event, which is also what it did earlier in the year with the Galaxy Fold.
Galaxy S11 Series: Expected specifications
There have been quite a few rumors and leaks about the upcoming Samsung flagship series in the last couple of weeks. Renders of all three models have been surfaced online, giving us a good look at their designs. These three phones might feature similar designs with a centered hole-punch screen, a square-shaped camera cluster at the back, and a curved AMOLED display.
The premium Galaxy S11 & S11 Plus might come packed with Samsung’s new 108MP sensor. Their cameras could be backed by features like Vertical Panoramas, Night Huperlapse, 8K video recording, Director’s View, Single Take Photo, and more. As for processing power, all three could carry an Exynos 990 chipset. Meanwhile, the newly-announced Snapdragon 865 SoC could be available on the Galaxy S11 smartphones in several markets, but we are not sure whether it will bring that version to India.
On the front, the most affordable Galaxy S11e is tipped to pack a smaller display with 6.3 or 6.4 inches in size. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S11 & S11 Plus might carry a 6.7-inch and 6.9-inch screens, respectively. They might also support a refresh rate of 120Hz. Finally, there should be 4G and 5G models of the devices available at launch.
