Galaxy Note 10+ and iPhone XS Max are both in the top premium segment. Let's see whether the newer Note 10+ is better than last year's iPhone XS Max.

At the Unpacked event, Samsung announces its latest Galaxy Note series that includes Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. The Galaxy Note smartphones have long been considered as one of the biggest threats to Apple's iPhone. In this case, the Galaxy Note 10 smartphones will take on the iPhone XS series. In this article, we will show you the comparison between the newly-launched Galaxy Note 10+ and iPhone XS Max. Both of them are currently set in a similar price range with a large display. The Galaxy Note 10+ seems to offer better value for the money. However, it is normal for the Note 10+ to be better than the iPhone XS Max, which launched nearly a year ago.

The Galaxy Note 10 will cost Rs. 79,999 in India for the 12GB of RAM / 256GB of storage variant, whereas Samsung still keeps the price of the 512GB storage variant under wraps. The phone will come in Aura Glow, Aura Black, and Aura White colour variants and will be up for pre-order until 22 August as it will go on sale from 23 August.

Despite being the older phone, the iPhone XS Max is still more expensive compared to its Samsung counterpart. The handset is priced at Rs. 1,04,900 for the 64GB storage option, while you need to pay Rs. 1,19,900 to get the 256GB storage option. If you want to buy the top-end variant with 512GB storage, that would be Rs. 1,49,900. The phone only packs 4GB RAM, but it still offers impressive stability in both gaming and multitasking, thanks to the iOS.

Overall, the Note 10+ seems to offer more for its price compared to the pricey iPhone XS Max. Let's see if it is also the case in other aspects like processor, cameras, and battery.

The Note 10+ is equipped with the biggest display that we have ever seen on a smartphone. The handset sports a massive 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel with a punch hole on the top center and Quad-HD+ resolution. For security, it features an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. Meanwhile, the iPhone XS Max is packed with a smaller OLED panel with 6.5 inches in size. Its display has a rather interesting 2,688 x 1,242p resolution. Its display has 458ppi pixel density and features a wide notch at the top for a selfie camera and FaceID sensors.

Under the hood, the Indian version of the Galaxy Note 10+ is driven by an Exynos 9825 SoC, which was launched alongside the Note 10 series. Its processor is coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. On the other hand, the iPhone XS Max runs on Apple's A12 Bionic SoC, accompanied by 4GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. In terms of performance, I can't really tell which phone is more powerful. However, we doubt that there would be a significant difference in this aspect, despite the iPhone XS Max packing only 4GB RAM.

On the imaging front, the Note 10+ comes with a quad camera setup at its back, that comprises of a 12MP dual-aperture sensor with OIS. Coupled with the primary camera are 16MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP telephoto lens with OIS, and a ToF DepthVision 3D sensor. On the front, it sports a 10MP camera for selfies and video chats. As for the iPhone XS Max, it is packed with a dual-camera system, including a 12MP telephoto sensor and a 12MP primary camera. Upfront, there is a 7MP sensor for selfies and more.

Fueling the Note 10 is a beefy 4,300 mAh battery with 45W fast charging solution. Meanwhile, its Apple counterpart only gets a much smaller 3,174 mAh cell with 15W fast charging solution. Both smartphones can support wireless charging. Finally, the Note 10+ is included with an S Pen, which supports Air Gesture.
