It is not really a secret that the latest iPhone devices in 2018 did not bring a lot of innovations in the software department and the most recent Apple’s iOS 12 also comes with quite a few more bugs than the previous versions. As a result, some ambitious features, which Apple had planned to roll out such as a redesigned home screen, were reportedly delayed and pushed back to the next iOS 13.
However, when it comes to hardware on the 2018 iPhone devices, it is a different story. The latest Apple’s A12 Bionic, which was released on 12 September 2018, is claimed to offer a 50 percent faster in graphics performance compared to its predecessor A11 and also increase the overall performance while consuming less power.
Though Apple is not the only one making progress hardware department, Android phone makers have also been focusing a lot on the hardware of their smartphones. There are some really Android-powered smartphones with impressive hardware specs launching in the market, for example, the recent OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition with 10GB RAM. Therefore, PhoneBuff, which is well-known for its smartphone comparison videos, decided to pit Apple’s latest and most powerful iPhone XS Max against the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition.
As mentioned, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is pretty similar to the regular OnePlus 6T, except for the 10GB RAM instead of 6/8GB RAM on the standard model. And while all of the Android phone makers are trying to pack as much RAM as possible on their new smartphones, Apple just released the top-end iPhone XS and XS Max with only 4GB RAM.
While it seems like Apple’s iPhone XS Max beat the OnePlus 6T in previous speed tests, can OnePlus fight back with the special McLaren Edition with 10GB RAM? You can check out the detailed comparison in the video below. It is quite a close one with both devices getting ahead of each other at certain points. However, Ithe Apple’s iPhone XS Max still comes out on top at the end and probably remains undefeated in 2018 as it is already very close to the end of this year.
