Taiwanese phone brand, Asus, has steadily expanded its mobile portfolio in the Indian market. After releasing the entry-level Asus Zenfone Max M1 and Zenfone Lite L1 in October, Asus also is about to release a new handset in India next month.
India Asus just posted a teaser video on its official Twitter page, confirming the release date of the Zenfone Max Pro M2 in the Indian market to be 11 December exclusively on Flipkart. Asus claims this Max Pro M2 with the Gorilla Glass 6 protection as the most durable phone in its segment.
The video teaser shows that the upcoming Asus phone will come with a notch and a triple-camera setup at its back. However, WinFuture recently posted some leaked renders which confirmed that its rear camera setup would only come with two sensors, and the third element is the LED flash module.
But not only that, if the report of WinFuture is accurate, the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC along with 4GB RAM, 64/128GB storage and option to expand storage via microSD slot. The dual-camera setup at its back will most likely feature a 12MP sensor and a 5MP sensor. Coming with a 6-inch display with 2340x1080 pixels resolution, the phone has also been confirmed to have a 5,000 mAh battery.
While this is interesting, the upcoming Max Pro M2 might not be the final phone Asus released this year. WinFuture reported details of another phone called Zenfone Max M2. The phone’s leaked renders show that it may have a metallic rear panel along with dual-camera setup that is pretty much the same as the Zenfone Max Pro M1. And it will have a display notch with reduced bezels.
The detailed hardware specs of the alleged Asus Zenfone Max M2 has not been released yet. However, it should run a stock version of Android just like the Max Pro M2. We will soon find out more about it when it is released on 11 December.
