ASUS ROG Phone India Launch Revealed: SND865 Plus & 144Hz Display

ASUS ROG Phone 3 will officially make its debut in India, reportedly featuring Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC, 144Hz AMOLED display, and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 will arrive in India on exactly one week from now, 22 July. On the same day, the handset will also be introduced at a launch event in Taiwan. This news comes right after Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset last Wednesday. The Snapdragon 865 Plus is the direct successor to the Snapdragon 865 and will likely be used on Android flagship smartphones in the second half of this year. The first two to come with the chipset are expected to be the Lenovo Legion and ASUS ROG Phone 3, with the latter going to on sales on Flipkart after its official launch in India on 22 July.
ASUS ROG Phone 3: Specifications & Features
The ROG Phone 3 has recently passed through TENAA and the listing gave us some details regarding its specs. According to the listing on TENAA, the handset will reportedly rock a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ (1,080 x 2,340p) resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Powering the phone will be the aforementioned Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset with an Adreno 650 GPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 512GB of internal storage. The Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset is said to be 10 percent more powerful than its predecessor Snapdragon 865. For software, it should run on the latest Android 10 out of the box with ROG UI running on top.
In terms of camera, the device could be equipped with a triple camera cluster at the back, including a 64MP main sensor, a wide-angle snapper, and a telephoto lens. Meanwhile, on the front, there will reportedly be a 13MP shooter for picturing selfies and video calls. Finally, the phone could feature an under-screen fingerprint scanner for biometrics security and a massive 6,000 mAh battery that supports 30W HyperCharge technology.
