Asus has already sent invitations to media ahead of the launch of gaming-centric phone ROG Phone 2. The successor to the ROG Phone lineup is set to be introduced on July 23 at an event, which will take place on July 23 in China.
According to the company, the next-generation ROG phone will boast a dedicated display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a bit higher than the OnePlus 7 Pro's 90Hz. At present, Razer Phone 2 is the only one can feature such a high refresh rate of the display in the smartphone market. To bring a custom experience for consumers when playing games, the Taiwanese company has joined hand with the Internet giant Tencent. With a massive number of games, Tencent will undertake the game optimization duty to give customers an advantage with their 120Hz display.
Prior to this, many posts on Weibo had confirmed the information that this gaming phone would debut in China exactly on the predicted date.
The release of ROG Phone 2 is said to directly compete with other gaming-centric phones including Black Shark 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3, which were also launched this year. It remains unclear about any arrival of it in other markets, but we all expect it to come soon.
Now it's listed on three certification sites: China's 3C, Wi-Fi Alliance, and US FCC. As for the price, the base variant of ROG Phone 2 may cost around Rs 44,000 (Yuan 4,399).
However, no specs are officially revealed until now except that it's rumored to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset under the hood. If you intend to have your own ROG Phone 2 or just are a fan of gaming phones, we'll help you keep in touch with any information related to the phone from now to its launch date.
