WhatsApp's New Features You Can Use Right Now

The latest updates for WhatsApp focuses more on privacy and tackling spams with features like consecutive voice messages or group invitation

WhatsApp has over 1.5 billion users all over the world and in India alone, this number is 400 million. So it comes as no surprise that its updates are long-awaited by many people.

The app usually releases new features, and it even tests the unreleased ones on its beta app for both iOS and Android. Recently, it focuses more on privacy and functions that can help deal with spams.

If you use the app often, here are some new features you can use right away:

Fingerprint Unlock

Android users now have the fingerprint unlock feature on WhatsApp, and you can find it in the Privacy section. When you enable the function, you can access the app with your fingerprints.

Users also have the choice to hide content from the notifications of the app. For the time being, this feature is available for WhatsApp beta users. If you have iOS devices, the equivalent authentication methods are Touch ID and Face ID.

Frequently Forwarded

The long-awaited frequently forwarded tool was finally made it to reality earlier this month. As the name implies, this tag will tell users which messages have been forwarded more than five times. This feature is to deal with the spam message issue, which is rampant on WhatsApp.

Consecutive Voice Messages

This function will be of great use for users who find themselves in need of sending several voice messages on WhatsApp. Before this function is rolled out, users must listen to each of them, but now, they can send all at once. So no more going back and play the next message.

Group Invitation

If you find WhatsApp groups annoying, there is a new way to deal with that. The privacy feature allows users to let only their contacts to add them to groups. If you set the nobody mode, you will receive the invitation to join groups, but it will expire in three days.
