As of now, if your smartphone is not connected to the Internet, you still have to wait for it or wait for the said functionality for quite a while.

Because of a massive user base all over the world, WhatsApp never stops helping users find more ways to communicate with others more easily. For those who are WhatsApp users, you will soon be able to access all your chats, profiles, etc… on multiple devices by just using one account. Recently, the company is reportedly working on UWP to make that multi-platform system work in synchronization. Now, you will soon be able to overcome the limitation.

Without the new functionality, you need to have your registered smartphone online.

As in the past, you would be required to log in your account with the web version on PCs or even a browser on smartphones, but you need to have your registered smartphone online. WABetaInfo reported that the requirement will be cut off, meaning that you can do the log-in session without the need for an online account on your associated smartphone, either iOS or Android. Though being claimed that functionalities will be better, it’s still unclear whether the interface will be similar to what we usually see on WhatsApp Web.

At the time, WhatsApp Web includes most essential functions but there’s no support for voice call or video call. Most popular platforms like iOS, Android, and Windows 10 are compatible with the multi-platform system. However, the compatibility of macOS is not revealed. An exact date of replacing old WhatsApp Web is also undetermined at the moment, while the company has not hinted any timeline for the new rollout. As for other messaging platforms like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp’s rival Telegram, similar functionalities are already available, which don’t ask the primary device to be online for other sessions on other devices.
