WhatsApp Cooperates With Indian School Of Public Policy For Privacy Design

WhatsApp has partnered with Indian School of Public Policy to carry out workshops on the understanding of privacy-focused product designs for public policy students.

WhatsApp has cooperated with the Indian School of Public Policy (ISPP) in carrying out a workshop series with the main theme of privacy. The workshops’ goal is to discover the privacy importance in design as well as its practice to make a positive tech impact in the society. These workshops are expected to commence on September 17, 2019.

And to introduce the cooperation, Will Cathcart, Global Heat at WhatsApp, mentioned designing works while remaining the privacy as an important aspect during the discussion with startups as well as entrepreneurs of India at Innov8. He said:

The workshops are expected to assist developing policymakers in getting a better understanding of the important right to privacy which people need to have in every service they use.

Talking about the partnership, Luis Miranda, Indian School of Public Policy’s Founding Director stated they were happy to cooperate with Facebook’s WhatsApp to introduce the series of workshops on privacy. And as mentioned above, TTC Labs, which was established by Facebook in order to drive innovation in approaches that focus on people for data and privacy, will co-organized these workshops.

For further information, WhatsApp will hold one-day privacy design jams under the initiative of TTC Labs. The first batch of the institute, including 63 students, will take part in the workshop on September 17 with another to be organized during the 11-month course's end. The design jams are likely to be like how musicians jam to appear with new melodies, Arpit Chaturvedi, an ISPP coordinator, explained.
