What To Expect From Apple's iPhone 11 Event

The iPhone time is drawing near and we will have all of our questions on the iPhone 11 answered on the 10th of September by Apple itself

The iPhone time is drawing near, and we will have all of our questions on the iPhone 11 answered on the 10th of September by Apple itself.

Apple may be known for the iPhones, but it also makes a bunch of other gadgets like Apple TV, Apple Watch, as well as software. So this year, users expect news from all of them, plus, something new from MacBook Pro.

So here is a recap of what Apple may announce at the upcoming event:

New iPhones

In the tech world, September is associated with new iPhones and this year, it is expected to launch three new models this Tuesday: iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, the successors of last year’s iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR.

This year, Apple seems to keep the transition we see when the iPhone 7 replaced the iPhone 6S. The appearance is mostly the same, but there will be a spec boost and an improvement in the camera department. So this means users may have to wait for another year to see major changes like 5G, a new notch, or an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Here is what you may expect:

iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max will be in the places of iPhone XS and XS Max. The design for last year and this year are mostly the same, with the smaller model gets the 6.5-inch panel while the larger one has a 5.8-inch OLED display.

The most noticeable change is the camera module, which will house a triple-camera setup. The third lens is still a mystery as for now, we have no credible news on what Apple intends to use it for. Rumor has it that the cameras will have a higher resolution, better video recording, and low light performance.

Another speculation is that Apple will enhance the Face ID system so that it can work on more angles. The durability of the phones is said to be improved too, with better shatter-resistance and waterproofing ability. Plus, the iPhone maker is said to add a reverse wireless charging feature, meaning the new iPhones may be able to power another device of the company.

Many users expect to see a boost with the company’s A13 chip, which might improve the speed of the upcoming model. Like with the iPhone XR, the company will reportedly remove the haptic 3D Touch.

iPhone 11 might be called 11R, as some people project. It will reportedly have the same 6.1-inch LCD panel and most of the design from last year’s XR, with just a few changes.

The biggest update here is about the cameras. The new phone is rumored to have a dual-camera setup with the optical zoom ability in the place of the single-lens system. Users may expect a more diverse color scheme and a more capable A13 processor.

Apple Watch Series 5

The Apple Watch got a large design change last year, so Apple might not do the same this year; instead, differences will focus mostly on the internals. The Apple Watch Series 5 is rumored to have a more capable S5 chipset.

Other projections said that the company might give the watch sleep tracking ability, one of the major health features the current models do not have.

watchOS 6 will give the entire line some major changes. Two noticeable features are the menstrual cycle tracking and a standalone App Store.

Apple Tag

Rumors of Apple’s Tile-esque Bluetooth tracking tag have been circulating for months now, and on Tuesday, we will see if there is any announcement for such a device. Evidence includes the code in iOS 13 explaining the way the feature will work, and when the company rebranded Find My app.

It is believed that Apple intends to use AR to locate users’ lost items. And since products like Tile rely on the network of local hardware to do so, Apple’s sheer number of devices all over the world can give it an advantage in this niche.

New Apple TV Hardware

Apple is late for an announcement for Apple TV, and in this upcoming event, the company is expected to reveal news like an A12 processor.

Arcade games are meant to be played cross-platform so a new processor could be a preparation for the launch of the latest gaming feature later this year.

Software

Apple has revealed most of what it intends for the software this year, but in tomorrow’s event, you may hear news on this department as well. Apple usually reserves one or two new features just for the newly-released hardware, and 2019 might not be an exception.

Services

As iPhone sales are showing a decline, Apple is focusing more and more on subscription services, including Apple TV Plus and Apple Arcade.

So far, all we know about these services are rumors that Arcade will be released with alongside iOS 13 and the subscription fee is $4.99 a month. Apple TV Plus is believed to set users back $9.99 a month and will be launched in September.

The Tuesday’s event might see Apple introducing some sort of a bundled service because it can be a large amount of money each month for users if they choose to subscribe to more services in the company’s ecosystem.

16-inch MacBook Pro

The design of the MacBook Pro is said to get an overhaul with a better keyboard, which will be released at some point this year.

Mac Pro And Pro Display Release Dates

At WWDC, Apple makes big promises for users of its Mac Pro, and we will have to wait until Tuesday’s event to know more about the price, the release date, and other details.

Surprises

Apple loves to give users some surprises. And this year, users expect news on the AR glasses we have heard so much about, new iPads, HomePod, improved AirPods, or even a pair of headphones. When it comes to the iPhone maker, anything goes, so stay tuned for more updates.
