Uber has launched a pilot program called Uber Plus with the aim of bringing loyalty rewards for Indian driver partners. The program is already running in three cities across India, including Mumbai, Delhi, and Chandigarh, meaning that a number of driver partners are selected by now. Uber is said to expand Uber Plus in the coming months.
For those who are driver partners of Uber Plus, the program gives them the ability to gain points to exchange for several benefits. For example, you can access educational services at discounted prices, free calls with doctors for a health consultation or microloans. Of course, a driver partner also has another priority that helps him get faster pickups at some select airports.
An Uber spokesperson said that rewards can be unlocked if drivers boast not only a low cancellation rate as well as a high rating. Points will be given on every trip they made during fixed three month periods. Points earned after trips are able to yield rewards and tiers if the driver is qualified.
The spokesperson further added that there will be a tier system for drivers. Not only redeeming rewards, but a driver partner can also unlock a number of tiers by using points, comprising of Blue, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.
Meanwhile, India is not the only market that Uber has deployed such loyalty rewards programs. As for driver partners living in the US and Mexico, a similar plan is also in place.
