Amidst the digital era, every business is making money through advertising, both directly and indirectly as well. Stiff competitions have forced them to make their ads more visible and more effective than ever. To meet those needs, a collaboration between Tencent and an AI company called "Mirriad" has been shaped, putting the effort into changing the advertising game. Needless to say, Tencent is now the top leading platform for sharing videos in China. Let’s see what exactly the change will be.
In a word, the new method will allow advertisers to approach their target audiences through Mirriad’s technology, which integrates branded ads/content into suitable contexts happening in TV series or movies. For instance, once Tencent wants to overhaul a regular cup that the actor is holding, it can easily get this cup “printed” with a particular brand by using the API mentioned above. Still unimaginable? Here’s a video showing how this tech in action.
Of course, such ads are expected to bring subconscious impacts on audiences, creating some sort of mood marketing to build a personal connection between targeted audiences and the brand. As of now, advertisers can insert ads in some suitable scenes to engage with people more effectively than ever. As reported, Tencent and Mirriad have signed a 2-year contract to exclusively trial this adverting technology. If the trial results in good responses from not only advertisers but also audiences, this tech will surely go mainstream in the near future. Of course, it will bring a goldmine to advertisement platforms like Tencent.
