Pune-Based Startup Invented A Machine That Disinfects Hospitals And Homes From Coronavirus

According to the company, the machines can reduce 99.7% of the viral load in a closed space in an hour, depending on the size of the room they disinfect

A startup in the Scitech Park in Pune has invented a machine that can disinfect closed rooms and spaces. The machine is called Scitech Airon and the startup behind it is JClean Weather Technologies. The company was founded under the Department of Science and Technology’s Nidhi Prayas program.

According to the startup, the machine can reduce 99.7% of the viral load in a closed space in just an hour, depending on how large the room is.

One of the applications of the machine is to disinfect rooms occupied by those with the Coronavirus to make sure that health officials do not catch it. The technology can also boost the body’s resistance to up to 30 days.

The Scitech Airon has undergone tests with multiple international labs that used it to disinfect a handful of closed spaces like farms, schools, hospitals, and houses. The technology can remove several allergens, bacteria, fungal infections, and viruses. That is not all. Scitech Airon can also decompose Nitrogen Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, and some other pollutants.

What the Scitech Airon does is to emit negatively charged ions that react with proteins on these microorganisms, rendering them harmless and ineffective.

This promising project has raised JClean Rs 1 crore for scaling up the manufacturing of the technology. If things go according to plans, 1,000 units will be ready to be installed in hospitals all over Maharashtra shortly.
