On Monday, Ola announced its service for Gorugram called Ola Emergency, which is specifically for medical cases not related to CO.VID-19. The service is designed to transport people to more than 100 hospitals in this city, in collaboration between Ola and the Haryana government. Cars in this service will also have sanitizers as well as face masks along with specially trained drivers, according to the company.
From the Ola app, users can tap on Ola Emergency then enter a destination by choosing from the list of hospitals in Gurugram. Notably, the service is only applied for riders not related to CO.VID-19 and not requiring an ambulance, such as schedule checkups, physical injuries, chemotherapy, and dialysis.
Riders will only pay a nominal fare in accordance with the rate card so as to compensate for the drivers’ service, Ola said.
“Trips to hospitals for medical urgencies are unavoidable, even in the current times. With Ola Emergency, we are able to facilitate trips to and from hospitals across the city through the Ola app.”
The firm added that users can use the service 24/7 and will receive a convenient, reliable, safe transport solution for their medical trips.
It’s stated by the company that the service is already available in Bengaluru, Varanasi, Nashik, Bhubaneshwar, and Vizag, and will soon come to other cities.
Ola’s spokesperson and Head of Communications Anand Subramanian said:
“With Ola Emergency, we are able to facilitate trips to and from hospitals across the city through the Ola app. We are grateful to the Haryana Government for the opportunity to collaborate in serving the citizens.”
